"He came quickly to provide an estimate and charged $85 which he said would be deducted from the $1300 quote. He stated that he would send a receipt. Never did. This was on Friday and said he would come on Wednesday. He didn't show. After several attempts he finally answered. He initially denied he had made the agreement, but eventually admitted he made a mistake. He promised that he would come on Saturday. I guess we're out $85. Don't make this mistake."

The cost to replace a water heater depends on the type you choose (tank versus tankless) and the fuel type. You can expect to pay anywhere from $880 to $1,780 for a one-to-one replacement. Water expands when heated and also when freezing. When water is heated, it expands by around 4%.
