"Thank You for the positive feedback it is much appreciated we thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you..."
We called Mike's Plumbing but they didn't have any appointments available until Monday the 14th. They scheduled a service call in case we couldn't find another plumber to fix the hot water heater before the weekend.
On Wednesday the 9th we called All Valley Plumbing and AC Co. and spoke to Yoli. She scheduled Saul for the next day to diagnose and possibly fix the problem.
Yoli called on Thursday morning to let us know Saul was on his way. Saul should up within the 30-minute time Yoli said he would. He determined the electronic part that controls the power and heating elements was out and called Rheem to order the part and have it sent to us at home. Saul gave us an invoice for $0.00 since this was covered under Rheem's warranty.
Today, Friday the 11th, the part arrived before 1 pm. We called Yoli and she scheduled Saul to come back to our house within an hour.
Saul showed up within an hour of our call and replaced the bad part, flipped on the breaker and hot water heaters power LED came on. Saul gave us a second invoice, again for $0.00 since this was also covered under Rheem's warranty.
Yoli and Saul were both friendly and professional.
We would definitely call All Valley Plumbing and AC Co. again if needed.

1. Price. The valve replacement job was right about 30 minutes of work, and the only substantial part (not counting solder and incidental copper piping) retails for about $14. The total bill was $187.50. Absolutely ridiculous. The previous job took twice as long and involved about the same amount of materials, but was $137.50 the day before. This seemed high, but not ridiculously so, and and against my better judgement I had them do the second job (the valve replacement) the next day. Bad choice.
2. Punctuality. The first day, I was told at 10:30 they'd be arriving in about thirty minutes. They finally showed up (after a couple calls by me) at 4:30. Day two, I was told at 8:30 they'd be arriving in 30 minutes or so. They actually arrived at 11:00. To some extent punctuality is a problem for every contractor, it seems, but this was pretty annoying. The estimates weren't even close. They did actually arrive the same day, though, which was vital considering I had no water in the meantime.
As to quality, it seemed fine. Neither repair was substantial, and the fixes seem fine. Too soon to tell, really, but I have no reason to think there will be any problems.
UPDATE: after I complained on the phone, the company reduced the valve replacement bill by $100 (without any real debate or discussion, in fact).
UPDATE #2: After hearing about the visit (through this review) the company called again and offered a full refund. This was very nice of them, obviously, and reflects what seems to be a genuine desire to make things right. I feel it's only fair I should also note that I selected this company in the first place because they were the first to say they could come out the same day and fix the initial leaking pipe, and even though they didn't arrive when they said, they did come that day and fix the problem. As of now (a week later or so) both repairs seem to be holding fine, so I have issues with the workmanship.
"Thank you for your positive feedback it is really appreciated next service 10% discount and let them know Jerry applied discount."
"If there is not an accesable clean out we go thru the roof vent. This is not an issue with our company but rather when the home was built they did not install one to make it easy to service (was a big issue with homes built in the 70's and 80's). There is no excuse for us not going out on time or being prompt we make every attempt to service a customer. If you would like service in the future please call the office and ask for Jerry Vasquez Jr. and I will apply a significant discount for your inconvenience."
"We at Valley strive to take care of every customer period. When our company goes out on behalf of a warranty company, (in this case First American) we have protocol to follow. On the first trip out a thermostat was changed at the residence and the homeowner was advised of the shape of the equipment (30 plus years). The type of system was a water source heat pump, (not very common in the valley area). I recall homeowner stating we were not the first company to go out and that other company refused to work on these systems. When the problems first started refrigerant was added to the system and our company called a report in to First American letting them know the shape and age of the equipment. At this point F.A. had information on all the equipment. A few days later homeowner had more problems with the system. A recall was dispatched to our company and we serviced system. on this trip we found a well pump, which feeds water to the systems was out. As protocol, we advised F.A. that the pump was out causing none of the systems to function. First American advised that this part of the system was not covered under home warranty and denied this part of the claim. Our company does not work on well pumps either. When any service provider goes out to a residence they on behalf of a home warranty company they must follow protocol for that company, which was done on our behalf. I sincerely felt bad for the family going through this. From day one it was recommended that they start getting estimates on 3 new systems for the house, regardless of having the home warranty or not. At some time through the process verbal prices were given to the homeowner. The whole problem the customer had was with First Americans coverage. Not All Valley Plumbing and HVAC. Thank you Russell HVAC Manager"

"Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, We know in this day and age it is more ept for people to complain rather than compliment on service. Thank You so much for your positive feedback and we hope to be of great service to you in the future. When you need service ask for Jerry Vasquez Jr. and we will get you a great discount for your loyalty....."
"Member, This is a warranty issue. Your warranty does not cover access thru a roof. THE COMPANY THAT CLEARNED OUT THE LINE THRU THE ROOF AT NO CHARGE WAS COMMITING FRAUD." They turned around and charged the warranty company for a service that is not covered under your policy. We apologize if the technician did not notifiy you of this but we have made the warranty company aware of what happened and they advised that they would be investigating this."
