"Polo was extremely punctual and showed up the next day after I called to give an estimate. He inspected the area very thoroughly and spent a lot of time discussing various options for gutter cleaning. On his recommendation we elected to replace an existing gutter guard system with wire mesh, as it is easier to clean and less prone to pluggage from pine needles. David and his crew arrived promptly the next day to begin work. They were extremely professional and kept me informed of the progress. They finished the same day. Even though the job turned out to have some additional scope and take longer than anticipated, Polo stuck to the original estimate and did not charge extra. They also left the area clean and neat. Excellent work and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others."

"I used Roberto on a kitchen remodel 8 years ago. I recently used him again to remodel my bathrooms. He is an engineer so there is additional value in his opinion, and he has an eye for detail. He and his crew do an amazing job. With my kitchen, I chose a granite with a lot of variation and color. I also have lots of countertops and angles. He fabricated it so that standing at one end of the kitchen, all the lines run in one direction. He made the granite in my bathroom without seams. He is a perfectionist, and it shows. I highly recommend."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, a fan can help drywall mud dry faster by improving air circulation and reducing humidity in the room. Drywall mud dries through evaporation, so increasing airflow speeds up this process. However, you should position the fan to blow across the room rather than directly on the wet mud. This helps prevent drying too quickly, which can cause cracking. You should also use a dehumidifier if high humidity is an issue.

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.

Textured walls can increase the value of your home if the style is modern and seen as a desirable feature and not something a prospective buyer would need to remedy. A good example of this is popcorn texture versus Venetian plaster. The plaster wall would add value to your home, whereas the popcorn texture may be something a new buyer would want to remove.

Vinegar and bleach are effective options for removing mold from drywall. Vinegar is a better choice if you have a smaller mold issue while bleach is best if you have a larger mold problem. If the area you're cleaning has limited ventilation, using vinegar would be a better option. In that case, you could mix vinegar with baking soda to remove more stubborn mold growth.
