"JW Roofing & Remodeling stands for quality, not quantity. Our primary goal is to service each client with the utmost attention to detail. Our commitment to you as a customer is to ensure your project is given priority and to make certain you are confident knowing the best quality of materials and workmanship went into your property; no matter how small or large. You can rest assured every job performed is backed up with a workmanship warranty."

"JW Roofing & Remodeling is a first class company with customer service that exceeds expectations. We had a number of projects that included a new roof, new gutters and siding and we would fully recommend their services. We were kept informed every step of the way regarding materials to be used and their recommendations on our roof and gutters were 100% accurate. Our HVAC costs have reduced since the installation of our new roof and the revamping of the gutters has resulted in much less water run off in undesired areas. They also rebuilt a garden wall which garners many compliments from those who drive/walk by our home. A very professional company."

"We hired David to complete some updates on a newly purchased home (retile, paint, update fixtures, replace deck and install new appliances). He kept reiterating it was a “very simple job, very easy” that would take 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately, that expanded into 16 weeks (yes, 4 MONTHS) of never-ending frustration. Many days there were only one or two unskilled laborers on site puttering without any guidance or supervision as David popped in only once or twice per week (and he repeatedly chastised me for stopping by my home daily and raising concerns). The job took 4 times as long as promised because the workers just weren’t able to complete things correctly the first time (and often not the second, or third attempts); they also repeatedly expressed they didn’t have tools and supplies to perform the job correctly. There were many days when no one showed up to the site. And when they did come to site, they exhibited complete disrespect for our home, leaving food and drinks spilled throughout the house (welcome rats and roaches!), dropping trash all over the yard to blow into neighbor’s yards, pouring paint down the sink drains, etc. We are still working through correcting issues ourselves 4 months after the job was “finished”. The photos show a few samples of DTS’s work: 1. We purchased Italian-made porcelain tile through Emser with rectified edges (to allow for thinner grout lines), not cheap China-made ceramic tile with inconsistent manufacture. However, DTS did not perform surface preparation prior to install and was unable to lay the tile level so sharp corners and edges catch your feet throughout the house, requiring shoes to be worn indoors now. 2. DTS insisted on sanding/sealing ½ the deck at a time and completed the second half during wet, rainy weather over our protests. That second half mildewed under the seal and the sealant is now chipping off. When contacted, David Steiner stated there was no warranty on this work as he didn’t make money on this specific portion of the $37,000+ job (even after he charged an additional $1300 to sand the deck as the original contract only itemized building and sealing it, not the needed preparation of sanding). He texted: “I can not warranty work that I did at cost…..if you want that section to be redone – you have to pay for it”. So 3 months after we paid $13,350 for a new deck this is what it looks like. 3. We used redwood for the deck, purchased through DTS from Allen and Allen at a premium price for better durability than pine or cedar. After building the deck, the installer applied white caulk (yes caulk!!) all over the wood, including over screw holes and where any two pieces of wood met. When he proposed this idea, we repeatedly told him not to do so. After caulking, he applied some kind of stain over it to try to hide it; all of the light colors in the pictures are caulk, not wood tones. Three months later, random slashes of stain are now visible everywhere as the sealant is failing. 4. Despite repeated request to please respect our house, we daily found a sink full of construction debris, paint, etc. as they poured trash and paint down the drain and into the septic system. 5. Our kitchen vent hood never worked properly after installation: it was very noisy and didn’t have any significant suction/air flow. When we opened it up, we found out why: rather than using the correct straight metal pipe for unobstructed air flow, DTS used flex conduit and just jammed up an entire roll (rather than trimming it) so the air space was almost completely occluded by yards and yards of excessive flex conduit."

Excel Roofing & Contracting is a family-owned and operated business based out of Boerne, TX and proudly serving San Antonio and its surrounding areas. As a family owned and operated business serving the residential and commercial communities, you will appreciate the quality of our work and attention to detail as we operate with honesty, integrity, and professionalism through competitive and fair pricing. In addition, we are a licensed, bonded, and insured roofing contracting business that specializes in the insurance restoration process. Although we specialize in the installation and repairs of all types of roofing and gutters, we also do interior/exterior painting, siding, windows, fencing, and more. Our goal is to simplify the insurance claims process for our customers. Thus, when wind and hailstorms strike, we are the one stop shop that can help you with all of your insurance claim needs by guiding you through the entire claim’s process and by never leaving you to pay more than your insurance deductible. In addition, we work with every insurance company and their adjusters to make sure that your claim is paid correctly, and that all damages are fully covered. There can be a lot of misleading information that comes from the insurance side such as how depreciation is paid and why claims are underpaid, but we will work on your behalf to make sure that all of your damages are covered. As a family-owned business with a foundation of courtesy, trust, and fairness, we find the most practical solutions to any issues that may arise during our projects and always provide the highest level of customer service to meet our goal of exceeding our customer’s expectations. We also offer an industry leading lifetime warranty on our roof replacements that covers materials and labor. Thus, you will have a 100% warranty for as long as you own your home!

"Ryan treats his customers as he would his own family. He personally took me around my neighborhood as I wanted to show him a roof that was done that I liked. That started the above and beyond service Excel Roofing provides. The communication was second to none. The timelines were reasonable and have exceeded all of our expectations along with craftsmanship and quality. I cannot say enough about Ryan and excel roofing. You don’t come across contractors that hold true to their word at least I haven’t in approximately dozen contractors I’ve employed."

FAQs for window service projects in San Antonio, TX

If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.

Window replacement can become costly, especially if you’re replacing your whole home. There are a few steps you can take to help save money on the bottom cost while still giving your windows a facelift.

  • Replace multiple windows at once to bundle your purchase

  • Inquire about discounts, coupons, or special offers

  • Consider window repair as soon as you see damage to help prevent the need for replacement

  • Maintain your windows often by inspecting your windows for drafts, leaks, and cracks

There are certain window repairs that are cost-effective to DIY and relatively simple for homeowners to tackle themselves. Tasks like replacing a screen, replacing a lock, or sealing a window are typically under $30 and take minimal time to do yourself. However, if you need to replace your window or repair a broken double pane, it’s best to call in a professional window replacement installer to lend a hand. Replacing the majority or all of the windows in your home is a time consuming job and best left to a professional.

Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.

The time it takes to replace a window is a total of four to 15 weeks. This time includes your initial consultation, appointments for measuring, as well as ordering and manufacturing your windows. For a smaller job, you can expect the total timeline to be on the shorter end, but for a whole house window replacement, it might take longer (or be split into multiple install appointments). Once your windows are created and ready to be installed, your window installer will take 30 to 60 minutes per window to install.
