"Theo was very timely in his response to my request for professional assistance. I noticed my heating wasn’t working around 7pm on the eve of New Year’s eve (Dec 30th). It was at 10pm when I realized I needed professional assistance (my limited attempts at troubleshooting was ineffective). I reached out to Home Advisor for quotes. I contacted 3 Home Advisor and 1 non-Home Advisor associated companies for assistance. Before I finished my early morning workout at the athletic club the following morning (less than 12 hours since my initial job request), Theo had already contacted me offering to come out and assess the problem. He came out on a very cold and rainy New Year’s eve morning. Based on my description of the problem I was having, Theo anticipated what would be needed for the repair and he stopped by the HVAC store and picked up the possible needed part and a replacement thermostat (although I had only asked him to come out to provide an estimate). He was being proactive because he knew the HVAC store closed early (at 1pm) in preparation for the holiday. He fixed the problem and provided very thorough and informative explanations of what he was doing and what was the cause of the problem. He also had to improvise to overcome an unexpected snafu. Without his expertise and wherewithal to devise an alternative method for completing the installation of my new Nest thermostat, I would have had to contact the company (Nest) for an alternative thermostat with a battery or a different sum of connection wires than the one I had on hand. It was one of the coldest days of the year and I would have been without heating for several days waiting for the stores to open on Monday (after the holiday). Theo’s pre-planning for the type of repair I needed and his skillset in HVAC repair kept me warm for the holidays. I am so appreciative. "Butch called back right away. Came out in a timely fashion. Got one unit working. Then he said the main board was malfunctioning on the downstairs unit and would have to be replaced. It would cost 1200 or 1300. But if we spent a little extra on a service contract he would wave the trip fee and it would be 1100 something. Okay. We did that. It was too late for him to get the board that day so he came out the next day to install the board. But the unit still didn't come on. He said the thermostat was bad and it would we 300 to 500 to replace the thermostat depending on what we wanted. My husband told him we could do that ourselves. Just by pass it and get the unit working. Then he came down and said that the blower motor was out and it would be 1800 to replace the blower motor or 2400 to just replace the whole unit and then we'd be under warranty again. I told them I wanted a second opinion before we did that. I called Ed & Sons they came out, confirmed that we did need a new thermostat. And said they could rebuild the blower motor for around 100$. I ordered two new thermostats for 300 for both of them and my husband installed the thermostats. The work they did was fine. But I felt like they were more of the school of let's just replace parts until it works or we can sell them a new unit. Rather than what can we fix."

"The tech was very knowledgeable and skillful. He had to install the new blower fan into the existing fan housing, but he took the existing blower assembly (fan, motor, electrical, and housing) out to his truck in inclement weather to do the work. I offered up my garage, but he said that he would be fine out in his truck. From start to finish it could not have been more than 40 minutes. The blower unit runs and sounds like a brand-new install. Very quiet. Prior to the repair the blower sounded like a freight train passing through the house. Very happy and the cost was reasonable."
