"Made a appointment with Air Specialist on Monday and they were able to be here on the following Thursday. Dispatch called to let me know that the technician was in rout 30 minutes before he got there to make sure the appointment was still on schedule. The technician showed up with the proper tools in hand and after greeting at the door put on the protective booties to keep our home clean. He performed all the checks needed for the check up and gave me a written report as well. I have used Air Specialist for  seven years now and they have never missed a beat. I am lucky to have the same people who installed my unit service it. I don't make a habit of requesting one technician over the other but i have to say I don't have to with Air Specialist, every one that has come to my home know what they are doing and there is no pressure to purchase any upgrades just the facts. Keep up the good work.

"TeamEnoch work quality and cost were the best. Installation Evan and Richard took care everything much better than I expected. I have had American Home Shield who assigned several different contactors to fix my HVACs. Their (AHS contractors) work quality was poor (I would rate them as 2-star the most). I highly recommend TeamEnoch for HVAC work. In fact I will hire them again to install the 2nd HVAC for my house in the near future."

"Air Heating & Cooling repaired ducts, replaced all grills, installed larger ductwork, bigger air supply vents in large living room & installed a new ceiling return. They drywall sealed unneeded return openings. Team came at 8am & worked diligently to install a complete HVAC system. They cleaned up any mess before they left. Jose and George really listened to my concerns of insufficient air flow in my 1978 home and made improvements. My home feels so comfortable and cool now. I look forward to less expensive electric bills. Thanks to God for their hard work. I highly recommend them for HVAC installation. A+++"

"Outstanding Service from Start to Finish! I recently had my air ducts cleaned by Air Duck Cleaning HVAC, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the moment I scheduled the appointment, the team was professional, courteous, and highly responsive. The technicians arrived on time, explained the entire process clearly, and were extremely respectful of my home. They used high-quality equipment and took the time to thoroughly clean every vent and duct. The before-and-after photos they provided were shocking — I had no idea how much dust and debris had built up over time. Not only does the air in my home feel fresher, but my HVAC system is running more efficiently now. I also really appreciated that there were no hidden fees — just honest, quality work at a fair price. If you’re looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and skilled company to clean your air ducts, I highly recommend Air Duck Cleaning HVAC. I’ll definitely be using them again in the future!"

"Todd is the best contractor I have ever worked with on a project. He was professional, courteous, and very respectful of our home. He did all of the work himself and did an outstanding job. He first cleaned the dryer vent and took the time to show me the vent and even vacuumed underneath the dryer for me. The dryer performed so much better after he cleaned the vent. Next, he replaced the entire ductwork in the home and cleaned and reinstalled the vents. He was so professional I barely even knew he was in the home. He took the time to cover the furniture to lessen the dust. He vacuumed up debris or dust in the house. I have small dogs in the home and he was very careful of them when coming in and out of the home. I had a minor question about a vent and Tod came back out to my home to inspect the vent. There was not an issue, just a difference and he was not impatient with me. He is a 5-star recommendation from me!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

ACs don't run on water. They're not connected to drain pipes or any part of your plumbing system. However, they need refrigerant to run. Refrigerant is a gas or liquid that has a low boiling point and absorbs the heat in your home. ACs need this in order to be functional and cool your home. If you suspect your AC is low on refrigerant, you need to contact a licensed HVAC professional. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that requires specialized training and permits to work with.

The average life span of an HVAC system is 15 to 20 years. Even if your old air conditioner is still functional, it isn't as energy-efficient as a newer system (especially one with an Energy Star designation). Older HVAC systems aren't as efficient, and the 10-year mark is when you should start making full system replacement plans. Twenty years in, that plan should be well underway rather than waiting for the unit to die.

It depends on how fast an HVAC technician can resolve the issue. First, if there's a refrigerant leak, you’ll want to keep small children and pets out of the house. Next, you’ll want to turn off the AC unit to ensure no more freon enters your home. Finally, you’ll need an AC technician pro to come to your home and fix the leak immediately. Ultimately, it’s best to leave your home if you discover a freon leak—the risk of exposure is very high, and it’s not worth risking your health to stay.
