"They said it would take 2.5 days. It didn’t! They were done in 1.5 days. They did an excellent job. We are very happy with the grass job. We even added some other landscaping projects which were done professionally as well. I will hire them again."

"John Normile and his sons were very efficient and professional. They completed resurfacing my driveway in record time, did an excellent job, and were very friendly and easy to work with. They explained everything they were going to do and cheerfully corrected any spots I questioned. I would highly recommend them."

"Job was completed on time and on budget. I like the fact that they use petroleum based sealer as opposed to other bidders who used water based sealer. Driveways look great."

Customers say: Quality work

"Clayton was punctual, knowledgeable, and very professional. He even made suggestions about our driveway design which we loved, and he also saved us quite a lot of money by doing so. That was something none of the other people bothered to do, and we are doubtful they were interested in helping us save money. That really impressed us immensely, and Clayton was so respectful. He took the time to explain everything he and his employees were going to do. We had 3 quotes in all, and we chose Clayton's business, All In Concrete. They came and poured our driveway the very next day, and we couldn't be happier! A few days ago, Clayton was in our neighborhood, and he actually took the time to stop by and visit with us.....it just doesn't get any better than that!!!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer. No matter what, ensure you choose an experienced recycled asphalt contractor.

A driveway approach is the part of a driveway where the public road meets the private driveway. This section contains several key elements, including the driveway apron, the curb cut, and the end slope. Depending on the slope of the driveway, this area may also contain the trench drain.

An asphalt driveway should be at least 3 inches thick over a compacted gravel base. Areas with poor drainage should have a thicker stone base. To install a new asphalt driveway over an existing driveway, the new asphalt should be at least 2 inches thick and the existing driveway should be in relatively good condition.

While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues.

When hiring an asphalt paving contractor to install your driveway, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective driveway contractor:

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • Do you have worker’s compensation?

  • Do you use subcontractors on your projects?

  • Do you clean up after the job is done?

  • Who is responsible for any damage to lawn or landscaping?

  • Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • Do you give free estimates?

  • What is the timeline for completion?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • Can you provide at least three references?

  • Can I see some of the work you’ve done?
