I want to highly recommend Paul to anyone looking for a home inspection. He did a fabulous job as he was professional, thorough and answered all our questions at the home inspection, and also when I called with follow-up questions. His report was easy to read and understood without all the intimidating technical lingo. Anything that he lists in his report as a deficiency, he clearly states the reason and the Texas Code to which it applies. As we were obtaining a VA loan, he was able to contract with a certified WDI (wood destroying insect) inspector on our behalf. One less thing we had to worry about. Our realtor was also impressed with his detailed synopsis of the inspection, as the information could easily be relayed to the seller. Don't hesitate to contract with Paul, you won't regret it.

Straight forward

Mr. Derrick was very prompt and the inspection was thorough and he very knowledgeable and very professional in his job. He found out some problems that need to be taken care of before closing the deal. He was open to any questions during the process and answered all our questions satisfactorily.

Paul DeRick is awesome! This was a great experience. We were running up against the end of our home warranty and wanted to do a home inspection to see if there were any warranty issues to be actioned. Mr. DeRick was thorough, he explained everything and he was very personable. Yes, it was a job but we had a good time chatting and him teaching me about my home. He truly wanted me to understand what he was doing and explained it all. I learned more from him than I did from my builder. I don't know if I will be doing any other home inspections any time soon but in the event I need to, there is NO OTHER inspector that I would call.

MONEY WELL SPENT!!! Pardon my sharing but when you understand the time, aggravation and money DHI saved me you will understand why. I am purchasing a new home which is currently under construction. With DeRick Home Inspection (DHI) I purchased peace of mind. Paul, the owner, took the time to throughly assess the home to ensure all systems were set for inspection. Almost immediately he found major issues that failed code violations on this brand new property. Thankfully it rained before the inspection because we were able to see the moisture issues near the windows. The range is 0-40% my moisture was 85%. Can you imagine what that would been like to tackle within the next year or even 10 years? These are things that the builders would have bypassed during the walk-thru. Once I sent that information to the builder they have been running ragged and my property and it has now been escalated to top priority. Primarily because closing is within the next 10 days. With that being said, I have already scheduled for Paul to come back to reinspect the property to ensure the builders work is done correctly. The builders have been informed and I am confident they are paying attention to the details. Thank you Paul for your time, patience and competence in this matter. Donâ t waste your time going anywhere else folks DHI is who you need to inspect your property.
