"Mr.Hernandez and his son do a great job installing some brick work around my pergola. They were very professional. Installed a bar and tv wall, and matched the brick on my house to make an awesome outside living area. Overall would highly recommend these guys."

"Excellent. Honest and quick work. Mr. King was able to get someone out on short notice, to shim/shiv the piers. They performed a full scale cleanup last year, and I will only use Basement kings for any of my crawlspace work. Best in Texas!"

"I do not normally write reviews but after my wonderful experience I feel compelled to. I called many companies, and none were as comfortable and easy going as Aztec was. They listened, the staff was excellent, and it was not a “sales pitch” call. The only company that treated me like family and it was clear they were not salespeople. Their experience spoke for itself, and I knew I was dealing with real experts. We received the best deal we could find for the quality equipment we wanted. We had no high voltage DC on our roof and the design made us feel very comfortable with the safety, maintenance and especially performance. I read reviews and if my experience doesn’t speak volumes then the A+ BBB rating should! That’s what really means the most to us. I feel I got the best value for the money we spent and was confident Aztec Renewable energy would be here long after our purchase. All in all were very happy with our decision to go with a Texas pioneer, Renewable Energy Aztec Renewable Energy a REAL Texas company."

"Great! They arrived at the time they promised. They were careful around my shrubs. The brick and siding of the house looked great and I was shocked at the difference having the driveway pressure washed made. I have asked them to contact me every 6 months to have it done again."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Creating a screen room is one of the most cost-effective ways to enclose a patio so you can still use it in the winter. Most screen rooms aren’t insulated, so you’ll need to wrap up warm or use patio heaters in winter. Also, be aware they might not hold up well if you live in a location where heavy snow is common.

With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

Even under the best of all circumstances, the maximum ROI on a pool is about 56%. There are other exterior home projects that you can do that are both less expensive to tackle and net a more significant ROI. These include:

In most parts of the U.S., adding a screened-in porch requires a building permit. Since this type of project often involves structural work and changes to your home’s footprint, homeowners should adhere to local guidelines. That said, permit rules can vary widely depending on where you live and how extensive the project is. Before you start sketching out plans or ordering materials, check in with your city or county’s building department to avoid headaches, fines, and potential structural issues down the line.

Yes, it can be worth screening a porch if you live in an area with beautiful weather, since it allows you to enjoy your outdoor space longer in the spring and summer. The additional protected space may even attract more prospective buyers if you intend to sell—especially if you add seasonal features, like a ceiling fan for summer or a heater to winterize your screened porch.
