In the following 8 years the outside piers have done well but the center of the house has sagged. By 2012 I had retired and my wife's employer went out of business, so now we have the time and enough money we can afford to repair the center of the house. In November 2012 we interviewed six companies and decided on Ram Jack again, at a bottom line cost of $8790.00. In December 2012 Ram Jack took one day and put 8 holes in my slab. Bay two they pushed the steel in all 8 holes and connected all 8 hydraulic machines together, once connected they raised all 8 at the same time leveling the slab and closing the gaps between ceilings and walls. All 8 were 46 feet deep again. Then they closed up the 8 holes with the dirt that came out and closed them up with cement.
I was amazed that all the companies described how the slab was built under the surface were different. But once the holes were in the slab I saw that Ram Jack was the only one that described it exactly as what I was looking at.
We now have had six months for the house to settle and all the doors and windows with the exception of one settled back in to the original setting and are working correctly again. The one bedroom to the hall door that did not latch correctly after the leveling and settling needs a 1/16th of an inch adjustment then it will work.
In summary even though I expect never to have to do this again o this house in the 20 to 40 years I have left, I would use them on any other house I may own in the future.
Work was done on time as promised, which was critical, as I had 2 other contractors lined up around this work (deck removal, patio installation, and flooring).
Installation crew was professional, courteous, and did a great job of keeping the house and yard clean despite the messy work to be done. The foreman on the crew was very knowledgeable and explained each step in the process to me as they did the work. He made sure I was there to see the critical stages of the work.
They left the house amazingly clean given the work that had to be done. Great communication from the office staff, including around scheduling, financing, and final inspections.
Price was not the cheapest, but I was not looking for the cheapest on this work.
I hope I never need them again, but would use them again and will recommend them.
