"We had multiple pipes burst and Luis and his crew did a fantastic job repairing both the stucco and drywall. He went above and beyond the scope of the job and repainted the entire ceiling after patching the holes. The repair freshened up the area and looks better than before the pipes burst. He will be my only choice for stucco or drywall repair in the future. He has my highest recommendation."

"The team was great and kept it tidy and well done. Utilized latex and oil based paints based on the best result desired. Did walls, cabinets the ceiling and doors. Their ability to float walls and ceilings were A+. Likely will hire them again."

"Santiago takes pride in his work, he places quality above everything else. His bid is not the cheapest among the contractors, however, I feel his honesty and sincerity in talking to him on discussing the project. He explains how the work would be done, and answers my questions in a timely manner. When a problem was discovered, he's very quick to address and correct it. This is my first time dealing with stuccos and I hope (and think I did) make the right choice."

"Hugo is an honest contractor for Stucco repairs. His price was reasonable and he communcated frequently during the stucco window repiairs he did. His helper Javier was also very good and you could tell he had a lot of experience. I also appreciated his safety concerns since I have a 4 story Town Home. The stucco repair business is rather corrupt between stucco leak inspectors, realtors and stucco repiar companies. I would not hesitiate to hire Hugo and his company for any stucco work you need, I think you would be quite happy with the outcome!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

If it is applied properly, stucco is a durable material that can last between 50 and 80 years, especially with regular repair and maintenance. Things like painting the stucco every 10 years or so will help it last longer. The location of your home plays a big part in the life span of your stucco, too.

It’s not advisable to use CLR on stucco. CLR is a powerful acidic cleaner designed for removing tough mineral stains. Stucco is a porous material commonly made of cement, lime, and sand. The acidic nature of CLR can potentially damage or etch the stucco surface, leading to discoloration or deterioration.

It is best to use cleaning solutions specifically formulated for stucco or mild household cleaners mixed with water to clean stucco siding. Always test any cleaning product in a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire stucco surface.

DIY is possible for small cracks or patches. Professional services ensure proper texture and color matching.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.

Yes, you can apply the stucco yourself, but it is a time- and labor-intensive project, especially on the exterior of a whole house. DIY stucco is better suited for repairing stucco siding or siding a smaller building, such as a shed or garage. Since most of the cost of stucco siding goes to labor, you can cut down significantly on the total if you’re up for the challenge.
