I purchased a deal for 4 hours of service and requested for an afternoon appointment on Saturday the 5th. The handymen said he will come at 2 pm. He didn't show up until 3: 30 and only by then did we find that he brought an assistant with him and said that the deal for 4 hours is for 1 handyman and since he brought an assistant with him, so they will work for 2 hours. We thought logically it made sense so we went along. The handyman himself started out on mounting the TV and his assistant worked on the cabinets. Soon the handyman found that we needed a grommit kit to hide the cables. We asked him to tell us what is it that we need so my husband could run and get it. He said we won't know what it is so he insisted that he would go to the nearby Lowes/Home Depot to get it. 35-40 mins later, he returned with the kit and resumed working. And around 5:30 (two hours later which meant our deal for the 4 hours was up), the handyman told us that his assistant had to leave to pick up his wife. I told him that I had said from the beginning and had repeated in email correspondence as well as messaging texts that I want to have both tasks done on the same day. But he insisted that his assistant had to leave and that they had had a long day working. I asked him to come back on Sunday so that way I don't have to clean up the house twice with everything as a mess in the kitchen even though only 1/3 of the hardware installation was done in 2 hours by that assistant guy. But they insist that they don't work on Sunday and the only time he could come back was more than a week later. I insisted again for them to return sooner, and finally they agreed they would return on Monday. By then the handyman said that he can't mount the TV on a fixed bracket/tv mount that we bought. And he said he will go to Home Depot to pick up a tilted one on Monday when he comes. Then comes Monday, he was supposed to come at 2:00, but he didn't call until 3:30 and said that the TV mount that he was going to pick up can't be bought in the store. I checked online and see that that set will not be delivered until another 10 days or more, so I proposed that I will get one set similar to the one he showed from Amazon and it could be delivered within 2-3 days. So we agreed to move the appointment to Thursday the 10th at 2:00. Again, on Thursday he said he won't be able to come until past 4 pm, so I requested for him to come on Friday morning instead. He said he will come at 8, and later that morning, texted to notify he will come at 10 instead. After he came, he worked with the new TV mount that I bought and without reading the instruction, he said the holes on two bracket panels don't align and that I should not have bought it from Amazon. So after another while, he found that there is another small bracket to bind the two panels together and so, the unit seemed to work. And without taken everything into considerations, he put the top panel on the wall, yet creating more holes in addition to the ones he made with the last tv mount, then he discovered that there had to be 7" gap between the top panel and the bottom panel. So, he had to take everything out and re-do everything again. So, finally after 3 hours in the 2nd visit, he finished mounting the tv. And then, he started working on the cabinets. By then, I figured that he will never finish the task within 4 hours (which is 8 hours in total), so I asked him to just drill the holes into the cabinets and we will do the rest ourselves. Finally, about 4 hours later, he finished drilling all the holes and we had to pay for another 4 hours of service and had to put on half of the cabinet hardware ourselves. And just yesterday, we found out that there are many cracks along the holes inside of the cabinets of our master bedroom, and he wrongly put a hole in our pull-out trash cabinet for a knob instead of for a handle. Overall, we felt we had been cheated by his manipulation on time, and the actual tasks performed were far from being professional, effective, nor efficient. It has been a very upset experience and it's sad that he could be listed on Angieslist with such kind of service and management. First, Nortec NEVER answers their phone. My daughter left no less than 5 messages for a call back so that we could schedule the installation. No call. EVER. Finally, I got in touch with them and set up the appointment. The people are wonderfully friendly, both on the phone and in person.
When the servicemen arrived the up-charges began. They needed to install an outlet (extra charge) behind the television even though one existed right below where the television was being installed; they needed HDMI cables to connect the components to the television (which I had already purchased and been using, but the servicemen somehow could only use the cords they brought with them--large extra charge); and because I had extra electronics to install (a ROKU), they needed another cable (which I already had, but they needed theirs so another extra charge). Then, when they asked what kind of mount I needed, I thought that there was only one and that it came in the $99 charge--oh no. That was another $130.
The work that they did was wonderful. It looks great on the wall, and the cords are all fed through the wall so that nothing is seen. I called and asked for a quote to mount my t.v. over the fireplace, mount a center channel speaker and four others, conceal all wires, set up home theater system that included reciever, dvd player, and program the universal remote. The speakers are Bose and the reciever and dvd are Harman Kardon. I was quoted $570.00. I agreed and the install date was set for Sat. 7/3, at 8 am. Two days before the installation the owner of the company called to ask if he could change the installation time to 6 am., because he just remembered that he agreed to BBQ for a friends party. I refused and suggested a new date all together so that the installation would not be rushed. The owner suggested two days to complete the services, Sat and Sun, if the installation did not end by 2pm on Sat. I also agreed. This company neveer provided a quote in writting or email. Sat 7/3, the owner called to say he would be late. The person coming along to set up the audio was having car trouble and needed a ride. When they arrived I asked for an invoice but the owner didn't have one. I insisted that I wanted something in writting so he sat on my couch and sent me an email from his cell phone, outlining general details of services, however, he did not include any prices. Ten minutes into the installation the owner left to go to Homedepot twice for parts, leaving his helper (\"audio\") to begin the mounting process. The room is only 16 x13 room, and 4 hours after they arrived the T.V was still not mounted, At one point I even provided them with with screws, anchors...Frustrated by the lack of preparedness, and no apparent plan of action. I agreed for them to put a hole in the ceiling and wall of my hall closet because they couldnt determine if and where the studs were in the wall that the wires should have been run through. By 1:30pm the audio guy asked for the stereo components. Reciever and DVD player where brand new in the box. The owner tells me that they need to get ready and go but will come back on Sun. I say to owner that I will put audio equipment together myself, however, I wanted an adjustment to the price. Upon hearing that the audio person begins to quickly try and put audio equipment together and connect tv, and cable. At 2:30pm, their packing up and I ask the owner what time on Sunday would he be returning, and he said that he's not coming back. The home theater is not setup, dvd not connected to reciever, and owner and audio person are basically guessing aload about how to get the surround sound to work. He begins pushing buttons randomally on the reciever, and remote controls. The items are expensive and brand new.I had the user manual in front of me and neither one of them even asked to see them. The were treating my electronics like they were some basic run of the mill audio equipment. Finally, the T.V. comes on and their is cable and sound. The owner begins writing out an invoice by hand for $620.00. I dispute the price based on the orginal quote over the phone and incomplete service. Mind you the theater system and DVD was never connected nor did they program the universal remote.The owner claims that I must have misunderstood, not only the price but the service that he agreed to provide. We go back and forth about the cost and it occurs to me that arguing with him was futile. This company has only been in business since February 2010. The pics online of various the installation look great, however, in person the flaws are obvious and the audio experience is severly lacking and disasterous at best. I requested a simply 5.1 theater system to be installed. When they left the center speaker was not mounted, jagged holes in closet wall and ceiling, DVD not connected, universal remote not progammed, and they even asked for a dust pan and brush so that they could clean up their mess. I was smarth enough to cover my glass coffee table, however, it took a couple of hours to get all the dust off of my floors. I should have followed my first mind to demand an invoice before the work began, however, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I heard more excuses about the lack of prepardness and the need to fullfill personal obligations than any stranger should have to endure. I wish there were a way to upload the photos of what I paid $620., for. And although I was far from happy I paid because I am a person of my word and I really felt sorry for this company, that believed that they had provided such prestine service. I also should have never alowed work to begin without a detailed and itemized invoice in hand. That was definatley my fault. It is also worth it for me to help the next customer understand what they may be getting into with such a young, unprofessional and inexperienced company. As I explained to the owner this is not personal its business.Unfortunatley, in good conscious I would never recommend them to anyone."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/mesquite/dallas-tv-installers-reviews-2402713.htm"},"position":8}]}

"Please read to the end of this review I had a water leak coming through my foundation in my garage. Baker Brothers sent their plumber, and he went through various ways of rectifying the problem and quoted $5558.41 to complete the repair. They arrived next day at 9:30am, completed all the work as promised by 3pm to an excellent standard, a very professional service. I give your staff a 5 star rating on the service I received. However the only negative comment is the price, I thought the price charged to be very excessive see break down Locate Leak $465.40 Access Panel (Cut into sheet rock 2 times) $679.48 Run single loop of 60ft of nylon hot water pipe $4413.53. Taking in account $200 for raw materials, correct me if I am wrong and 30 minutes for lunch break, a total of 5 hours. The labor rate works out to be $1071.68 per hour for 1 plumber and 1 laborer. This I believe to be unacceptable labor rate I have requested a justification but as yet I have not had a reply"

"I was concerned that the only electrical outlet in my garage was no longer working (that's where I re-charge my battery-operated lawn equipment). I appreciated the brief time Mariano G. was at my home to assist me in resolving the problem."

FAQs for tv antenna installation projects in Garland, TX
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
If your TV antenna is good quality and was installed by a professional, you can expect it to last between 10 and 20 years without needing repair or replacement. This can vary based on your geographic location, weather conditions, and antenna location.
Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
The cost to repair your TV antenna is around $200 for the average homeowner. However, charges could be as low as $60 or as high as $450. Factors such as multidirectional or unidirectional, indoor or outdoor, and amplified or non-amplified all play an essential role in determining the cost of your repair. For example, outdoor antennas cost more on average to repair than indoor ones, much like amplified antennas cost more to repair than unamplified ones.
