"Outstanding service. We had a breaker box replaced, including all the rewiring associated and a new ground. Also had electrical fixed that goes to the dryer. They made an appointment for the next working day, were on time, and did an excellent job. Everything was carefully explained to us. Nice people and very professional. We would hire again."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Garland, small electrical projects like installing outlets or switches usually take a few hours, while a panel upgrade may require one to two days. Whole-house rewiring often takes three to five days for an average-sized home. Permit processing typically takes three to five business days, with inspections soon after. Weather, material supply, and utility coordination can affect timelines, so plan accordingly for your project.

Helpful?

If your Garland home was built before 1970, has aluminum wiring, or uses an outdated electrical panel, it’s likely due for upgrades. Watch for frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or two-prong outlets—these are signs your system may not meet current safety standards. Planning a remodel or noticing a lack of GFCI outlets also means it’s time to consider electrical modernization in Garland.

Helpful?

In Garland, electrical maintenance should include monthly testing of GFCI outlets and breakers, quarterly inspections of outdoor wiring, and annual checks of your main panel—especially after storms or extreme heat. Regularly tighten connections, look for moisture or corrosion, and clear debris from outdoor panels. Inspect for pests or overgrown trees near power lines to help prevent outages and keep your electrical system safe.

Helpful?

In Garland, slab foundations often require electricians to run wiring through attics or use surface-mounted conduit, which can add complexity. Brick exteriors and low attic spaces may limit access, while finished basements or extensive cabinetry can make routing wires challenging. Before starting electrical work, review your home’s layout and identify any tight crawl spaces or HVAC obstructions that could impact installation.

Helpful?

In Garland, warning signs include exposed or overcrowded junction boxes, mismatched wires, burn marks near outlets, or missing GFCI protection. If you notice flickering lights, inconsistent outlet performance, or panels with mixed breaker brands, these may signal unsafe work. Electrical projects completed without permits or lacking proper weatherproofing outdoors should be professionally inspected and brought up to current safety standards.
