"This company has completely ruined my home. They replaced our bathtub- which in turn leaked through my entire up stairs and into the bottom floor. They also tried to steal money from the exchange of a bathtub when confronted about the issue they tried to stay it was put on their card and did refund the money (but only after confronted about it). Now I’m left with a bathroom that I paid over 2k for that has caused water damage- not to mentioned my husband put in several hours yesterday already fixing cosmetic issues! ALSO!!! They just removed their FB page to try to hide from the truth DO NOT USE!! DO NOT RECOMMEND The pictures are of the water that leaked through the light fixture!"

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

You can let a fire burn out in a fireplace as long as you or someone else will stick around to monitor it until it goes completely out. This may take several hours. To prepare, stop adding fuel to the fire well before you’re ready to call it a night. If you’re using the fireplace for warmth, you’ll want to cover up in some blankets as the flame dies down.

Ideally, your chimney cap should be at least 8 inches above the top of the flue, though it's better if it's even higher. You want it to sit that high because it won't affect the chimney's draft, which pulls the smoke up and out of your chimney and away from your home.

A chimney liner is held in place by a top plate and attached top clamp, both of which should be included in most chimney liner kits. The top plate seals to the top of the chimney flue and attaches directly to the liner. This not only holds the liner in place but supports its weight in the chimney.

Costs range from $3,500 to $15,000, depending on material, labor, and design complexity.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.
