"Excellent job by all I worked with. My wife even commented how every one from the dig crew to plumber we are very nice. I have building experience but it was nice that the first service tech walked me through the issues and even let me view everything he was viewing. Gave me three solutions and good/bad of each. When it comes to the actual work it was done exactly as discussed. No surprises and no hidden charges. Nice to work with a service provider that does what they say, no surprises, and put my yard back to original. I will definitely use them again for my plumbing needs."

"Thanks, Lane! He was so courteous and polite. In about 15 minutes, he assessed the situation, gave us a straightforward price with everything that price included AND used the auger to clear the wash rag from our toilet! (Please, no questions as to how it got there!) LOL! He is an experienced plumber. He was wearing a mask and he covered his shoes with booties before entering our home. I highly recommend Lane Jackson and Baker Brothers Plumbing!"

"Jeremy Kennedy did an outstanding job with my garbage disposal. I did not think that I would find a pro to help at the last minute. Mr. Kennedy arrived on time and went straight to work with a diagnosis/ solution. Prices were very fair and Mr. Kennedy was very friendly and courteous. Will definitely call him for all of my plumbing needs in the future. Very pleased with the outcome."

"After a "High Ball" bid from another plumbing company for a main sewer pipe replacement due to a permanent clog, I was fortunate enough to make contact with Francisco, who offered to come to my home that afternoon for a free second opinion. I was impressed by his sincerity and apparent honesty and immediately accepted his proposal at much less than half the "High Ball" quote. We in desperate measures due to not being able to use our sewer to wash, clothes, bathe, toilet, etc. Francisco had a crew on-job early the next morning, and we were free to use our water, etc. in less than 48 hours from the time of the estimate. In fact, the City Inspector told me that the job was very well done when he gave me the permit inspection paperwork to give to Francisco. If you're looking for an honest, friendly, courteous plumber, Francisco is your man. I plan to use him for EVERY plumbing problem that might arise."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is around $100, and prices range from $50 up to $150, depending on your location, the experience of the plumber, and how accessible your toilet is. In most cases, a professional plumber can replace your fill valve in under an hour, although it might take longer if they also need to fix or replace other components at the same time.

A toilet flange secures your toilet in place to the floor, and connects your toilet to the drain pipe that carries its contents to the sewer. Obvious signs that your flange needs replacement include when it can’t keep up with these two functions. If your toilet rocks back and forth or you see leaks coming from the bottom of your toilet, it’s time for a replacement. Other signs that your toilet flange is broken or faulty may include loose tiles or soft flooring around the toilet, and sewage smells.

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.

If you decide to replace the toilet flapper yourself, the only cost will be buying the new flapper for around $5 to $17. You can also hire a plumber or handyperson to take on the job instead, in which case you’ll pay an hourly rate for labor plus the cost of parts. Handypersons charge $50 to $150 per hour, while plumbers cost $45 to $200 per hour. This repair might take less than an hour for your pro, but note that many providers have a minimum rate for a house call.
