"In July 2021, Aaron's did an excellent job during our AC maintenance of two refrigerated air units. The technician was very thorough when cleaning and servicing our units and furnace downstairs. I have seen other AC company techs do this same work, but Aaron's tech was by far the best. He left the work areas neat and clean afterwards. Hope to see him again early summer!"

"Jesus was incredibly attentive, professional, and transparent from the moment he arrived. He immediately diagnosed the issue with my AC and took the time to explain everything clearly, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, there are companies that aren’t always honest and seem more interested in making a sale than helping their customers, but that was absolutely not my experience here. From beginning to end, the entire team was honest, trustworthy, and efficient. They completed the repair in a timely manner and had my AC running again during some of the hottest days in El Paso. I’m so grateful I chose this company—they gave me peace of mind, excellent service, and treated me with respect. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, reliable HVAC company. Thank you, Jesus, for your outstanding work!"

"Keeping family members happy and comfortable in their own home brings peace to them as they age and peace to their adult children that are now caregivers to them. ALL of Western Electric HVAC staff provided multiple service options and provided the best upgraded service needed for my mom’s old house. Service calls were also very timely. GREAT communication by all the staff!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.

Yes, scorpions can enter a home through AC vents, especially if the system is not well-sealed. As excellent climbers, they can scale a home's exterior and squeeze through gaps as small as 1/16 of an inch. Scorpions are often attracted to the moisture around air conditioning ducts or seek cooler areas during hot weather, using vents as a pathway inside. They may slip through small openings where the duct meets the vent cover and travel within walls before emerging. To prevent this, inspect your vents, seal any gaps, and consider installing fine mesh screens.

The best way to save money on HVAC repairs is by regularly having your system inspected and maintained. This can prevent bigger problems and costly repairs and replacements in the future. It’s also smart to buy quality equipment and hire companies that provide warranties on equipment and labor. If you need repairs, you may be able to save money by cashing in on rebates and incentives or keeping the area around your HVAC unit clear to shorten the time your contractor needs to spend in your home.

Evaporator coils in HVAC systems typically last around 10 to 15 years. However, their life span can be longer or shorter based on factors like the frequency of your HVAC system usage, whether regular maintenance is performed, and environmental conditions. Regular maintenance, such as HVAC system cleaning and coil inspection, can extend the durability and efficiency of your evaporator coil.

Yes, you can put an AC unit on the roof of your home or commercial building. For proper installation, you’ll need to ensure the roof surface is flat, it’s accessible for maintenance and cleaning, and an AC installation pro agreed that your home is a candidate for package units. Don’t forget to consider the climate in your area, as homes that experience frequent tropical storms or hurricanes may not benefit from this type of system.
