"Fantastic experience with Moses and Secure Contractors INC. Installed a couple of new breakers and outlets that added the right number of available outlets in my garage. Professional, polite, timely, and affordable. I would recommend this company to family and friends in the future and will definitely hire them again to do additional electrical work or general handyman type projects."

"Ed Riley is extremely knowledgeable about what causes lighting and how to protect from it. He explained to me which and how structures develop static electricity that lead to lighting discharges in a way that the physics made sense to me. They were also reasonably priced and kept their word. Definitely recommend them."

"Jim for Donhohues Lightning Rods installed the lightning rod system in my home. When the work was done I was very happy as their installer came as per promised time, and perform the work. Before giving them the work Jim completely sold me their work ethics, quality, and service. There was a minor issue and his team took complete ownership of this issue and talked to me in detail. They provide a very good explanation to satisfy me. I am a happy customer."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical systems in El Paso benefit from annual panel inspections, especially after the hottest months, to check for heat-related wear. Dust buildup from storms should be cleared from outdoor outlets and panels regularly. Before monsoon season, test surge protectors and inspect grounding systems. Homes with pools or heavy AC use should consider quarterly checks to ensure connections remain secure and equipment operates safely in the demanding local climate.

Helpful?

In El Paso, unexpected costs often come from updating older homes with outdated wiring or dealing with thick adobe and stucco walls that require extra labor. You might also encounter fees for permits, inspections, or utility coordination, especially if service upgrades are needed. If your neighborhood has a homeowners association, approvals may be required, and patching or repainting after electrical work can add to the overall scope.

Helpful?

In El Paso, be wary of quotes that lack detail or don’t mention local climate considerations like surge protection or weather-resistant materials. Unusually low estimates, requests for full payment upfront, or a lack of written guarantees are also warning signs. Trustworthy electricians should provide clear breakdowns of labor, materials, and permits, and address how they’ll protect your system from El Paso’s unique weather challenges.

Helpful?

In El Paso, intense sun, high temperatures, and frequent dust storms can accelerate wear on electrical systems. It’s important to use UV-resistant wiring and weatherproof enclosures for outdoor components. Monsoon season brings lightning and flooding risks, so surge protection and elevated installations are recommended. Scheduling annual inspections before summer and after storms helps catch issues early and keeps your electrical system safe and reliable year-round.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in El Paso can make your home more attractive to buyers by improving safety, energy efficiency, and supporting modern features like smart home devices. Enhanced surge protection and updated panels are especially valued due to the area’s high AC usage and frequent storms. These improvements often help homes sell faster and appeal to buyers looking for reliable, move-in-ready properties suited to El Paso’s environment.
