"Derk came out and did a thorough inspection and made recommendations on what needed to be done.  He took measurements throughout the house and then discussed his recommendations on what should be done.  Rather than use the scare approach and put down other companies the way other contractors had done, he took a more conservative approach to fixing the problem and was extremely professional in explaining what he would be doing.  . 
He put piers around the entire perimeter of the house and when it was completed, the house felt good as new.  He did explain that leveling the house would not fill in the cracks that showed up when the house had settled but we had high hopes it would.  He told us to wait 90 days to fix the interior cracks and warned us that more cracking could occur.  We waited and did the work and five months later, we have no signs of any more problems.
The only negative thing I can say is that his workers left the area littered with water bottles but when I pointed it out to him, he had it taken care of immediately.
Communication was excellent.  He responded right away any time i had a question.

"When you need foundation work done check for these things: - prior foundation work done on your house - ask the representative who comes in and takes the level readings how far off level is your foundation. When the representative came and took the readings on our house, he did not say how off level it was. All he said was the house was leaning bad on the right side. When the foundation team came to install the piers, I found out that the house was off level by 1/2 inch (ca. 5 cm)! I paid almost $13,000 to have the right side of the house lifted 1/4 inch (ca. 10 cm). And then come to find out when the foundation crew started digging, previous foundation work had already been done! - read, reread and reread the contract before you sign it! Ask any question no matter how stupid you may think it is! - make sure you have a 4-inch sewer clean out so a plumber hired by the foundation company can come in and do a PRE and post hydrostatic test. Any water leaks in your plumbing will void the contract! All plumbing issues are the homeowners financial responsibility to repair!"

"We bought a cabin and thought we had a rotted log but quickly found out the entire foundation needed to be repaired. Bill & his team laid an all new concrete foundation, built a beautiful back wall & spot for an outdoor fireplace, installed a drainage system & even used the salvageable parts of the logs to recreate the wood siding look. We also hired them to lay gravel down our driveway, repair the mortar on our chimney and install a storm cap on it. We weren't home for a lot of the work and Bill kept me updated on his progress remotely, and worked as quickly and efficiently as any contractor would if the homeowner was present. A real testament to Bill's reliability is that the storm cap we ordered for the chimney was delayed because of supply chain issues and he had to come back to install it. He had already been paid for the job, and I know some less reliable contractors wouldn't have ever shown up but Bill did it happily and even gave me some tips on how best to use our new fireplace.
