Will was very prompt giving us the estimate and got the job done in a short period of time. His workmen were to repoint existing flagstone in some places and do some repair of some of the flagstones. However they used a chalk white mortar and did not try to match the existing mortar where work had been previously done. I'm not happy with that look. When I mentioned that to Will he said don't worry that in two months it would change color when it gets dirty. I don't think it will ever blend with what's already there.

"No we did not maam we told you many times that you previously had white mortar. We cannot use another mortar color it is new and clean. Nothing is butchered at all. I don?t know were the misunderstanding is cause I did 3 more jobs in your neaighborhiod from your job people walked by and looked at."

It went well at the beginning but they became more hurried I assume because they had other work. The wooden gate had several pickets removed because it would no longer fit. He claimed it was because the wall was crooked. He came back to redo the gate and repair some cracks in the concrete. The gate was banging into the hardware and breaking, still crooked. Cracks appeared again in the concrete. So I called him several times and he said he would come back but didn t show. He texted me last week after he didn t show up to say he would be here today at 10:00 AM. He was not here at 10:00 so I texted him at 10:30. I told him he never contacted me to say he was not coming. He texted shortly thereafter and said he would be here today. He showed up at 11:55 and no apologies just asked me to show him what I was talking about. I started to tell him and he got defensive and said he told me the wall was crooked and that the cracks in the concrete were normal. He said that I was just nitpicking and he cursed me and I cursed back. He came back and got in my face. Telling me to repeat what I said and he cursed me and told me to get in the house. I felt threatened and so I walked away. He walked to his truck and in the middle of the street, he kept yelling F you, F you. He got in his truck finally and tore off.

"Jerry, I have gone above and beyond for you. I have done work for your neighbors. Everything is beautiful no problems during the work you demanded $200 finders fee. You didn't find anybody for me. It was a disaster getting any payments from you according to our contract with you, You do not honor contracts obviously . I came back many times with zero understanding of what the complaints was about. None of your neighbors have complained. Also, you are demanding more money back for a stellar job which I cannot understand another $800 or you would post a comment was your threat well Thank God for modern technology because I have you calling me a"

"First off sir? you contacted my company to make an appointment for a certain day. You then called me back to push the appointment an hour later.. I said ok that?s fine . I?m around the corner from your home I call you and tell you I?m almost there. You told me we didn?t have an appointment? I simply said yes we do we spoke yesterday and reminded you that you called back to push it an hour later. When I said are you sure I?m right here? I drove here ? You immediately gave me an attitude like you were inconvenienced. I never met you before . I or any reputable contractor would never do business with someone as rude and nasty as you. So no one ."

They did a great job repairing the cracks in the stucco on the chimney. Required a new chase top which they handmade. Explained what needed to be done and how they would repair it. Gave me a fair price and the chimney is now good as new. Wasn’t an easy job in the hot Texas sun. If you want it done right, call A-1 American Construction. Bill is a Marine Corps Vet. ?
