"I had a Trane A/C installed by air systems. Carlos and his crew were on time, worked very efficiently and finished the installation within 1 day despite having to widen the attic opening. They cleaned up carefully and were professional in their communication. Also, their price was about $1000 less than the closest competitor. Would definitely hire them again!"

"While install a new patio, I needed two sprinkler valves and one sprinkler head moved. Dream Yards arrived on time, figured out what needed to be done, and got right to work. It took the 2-man crew about 2 hours to do all the necessary digging, plumbing, and rewiring. When it was all done, everything worked as it should and they cleaned up and back filled very nicely."

"Very professional - discussed the concerns with the lack of slope, etc. Provided his best ideas (putting in a sump instead of a french drain) for a solution. The cost was too high for what we felt was needed but it was a well put together quote. We ended up doing the work ourselves however we would not hesitate to contact them again for any work needed."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Storm doors last about 25 years, although high-quality and well-maintained storm doors could last up to 50 years. The type of storm door can impact lifespan, so be sure to consider the durability of different frame materials and glass types before making a purchase. Also, keep in mind that while storm doors can typically mitigate the impact of strong winds and harsh weather, repeated exposure to storms can wear down the door and shorten its lifespan.

Yes, most installation services include the removal and disposal of old doors, which can include storm doors. It is best to confirm the specifics with your provider or installer.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

Most homeowners can expect to pay between $186 and $680, with the cost of installing storm doors averaging $432, including both materials and installation. Labor costs range from $75 to $400, depending on the complexity of the job; however, paying for a professional helps save you time and ensures proper installation. If you go the DIY route, you could spend anywhere from $250 to $1,000 for just the labor kit, which includes the door and hardware. You’ll also need to budget for tools, like a power drill and level, if you don’t already have them.

The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.
