"It went very well! Technician was on time and very thoroughly serviced both of our HVAC units. We bought these units from this excellent company back in 2018 and as promised, they continue to deliver excellent service as well!"

"I have to say the professional quality and service provided was outstanding. Al's team answered all the client questions and my worked to ensure the cleaning and replacement was done on time. He also provided follow up to the service e to see if every thing was operating as it should. During the follow up he noticed some debris near the HVAC system a d had it cleaned up, then provided another walk through. I was impressed and my parents are happy. The system colled so much better and made it comfortable. I would use them again and I did on another project."

"Our air conditioner developed a leak which I thought was due to a blocked drain pipe, so I had to find someone to unblock it quickly. Of the companies I contacted, A/C Doctor was able to respond the quickest. Brian came and looked at our system and informed us that the issue was more than just the drain pipe. The pipe was blocked due to corrosion coming off the condenser. The outside unit was not matched to the inside unit. And so on. He spoke with the office and was able to schedule an install of a new system the very next morning. It was already after 8 PM by this time! (We knew the HVAC system needed replacing, we just weren't anticipating it this soon.) The workers performed the install and even included an air purifier and duct cleaning. The system is a York, so not some off-brand that we never heard of. We get 2 years of service with the install, and will definitely buy a service contract from A/C Doctors when it expires. Please note: I posted this exact same review on Yelp."

"I had no idea I needed to clean the vents. I have always lived in new homes. The first thing I noticed is that the vents did need cleaned, pictures of what the vents looked like before and after were shocking. I also noticed the quality of the air. The third is the air conditioner in this house is old and loud. The first night after the air conditioner vents were cleaned I woke up the next morning and realized that I had not been woken up by the air conditioner roaring. That in it self was the most shocking piece of getting my vents cleaned. My husband is sick I am looking at everything in our environment to make sure it is not the house making him sick. GET YOUR VENTS cleaned, you will be shock at what you find out about your air conditioning system vents. Each personà  à ¢à  à  à  à  s experience will be different. "Robert is one of thenonly HVAC professionals I've used whose ethics stand out before anything else. I the interest of maintaining the customer/vendor relationship: he could have billed me 3times what he did and not many people would object. But Robert didn't choose the "easiest" (aka the most costly) route. He isolated my problem(s) away from a grounded compressor which would have meant a whole new A/C system. Once he tested the ground circuit to the compressor outside his labor and parts quite was exceptionally reasonable and provided the value I needed. Robert did such a good job with his commitment to quality and easy-to-manage dialogue and advice; he will get the job for replacing my a/c unit in the next 6months or so. The cost/value equation is easy with US air: their guarantee in labor, easy to understand pricing model, and upfront decision making are the reasons they will get my business a second time."

"My HVAC unit was original to my home. 20 plus years old. It was obviously time to replace the unit. Over the years I had the system serviced by various companies. I decided to call Westerly Air. I’m so glad I did. They provided excellent service from start to finish. I would highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.

Trick question: There is no difference between an AC and a furnace blower motor. Whether you have central air and heat or just one of these, the same blower motor carries hot and cold air throughout the ductwork in your home. Certain systems may have separate blower motors for the AC and furnace, but each serves the same function.

Not if you have a standard unit. Because portable AC units actually work to dehumidify the room, you’ll likely need to drain the unit from time to time—but you won’t have to put water into it. There is, however, another type of air conditioner called a swamp cooler that requires water to operate. If you have a swamp cooler, you may need to fill a reservoir with water and potentially ice. But a swamp cooler is different from a standard portable AC unit.

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.
