"We recently bought our dream home, it has a million beautiful windows! We couldn’t dream of covering them all with blinds or curtains. I was googling for weeks of what to do for our windows. I read a million websites and reviews and finally stumbled across a company on home advisor for a company called niche. I set up an appointment for an estimate, and the rest is history! We had every window in our home tinted. Not only does it block the view of others, we can see out, and we are not blinded by the sun! The day they came out, our ac had been down for repairs, I want you to know that the temperature inside of our house went down two degrees just from them putting on the tint! It blocks the heat and damaging sun rays!! This stuff and the folks who do it are amazing!!! I can’t say enough about how happy we are with our choice! It is an investment for the future, and they back their product with a lifetime warranty!!! Who else can say that? Please let me know if you have any questions!!!! Love love love my new tinted windows!!!"

You may need some goo remover for any leftover adhesive, but this DIY could be free for many people.    

The most popular tint percentage for home windows is 35%. Generally, most homeowners choose a visible light transmission (VLT) between 50% and 35%, where lower numbers mean less sunlight enters the home. A 35% tint blocks over half the incoming light while still allowing plenty of natural light, which can improve energy efficiency and comfort. Some frosted glass sprays can handle the outdoors, but most of them aren't built for it. Sprays made for exterior use will say so clearly on the label.
