"Saul did an amazing job on my garage floor. He worked with my schedule and was able to get everything completed in the time I needed it done. I’m so happy with how my garage looks. Plus, he had the best pricing for the same quality work that I found with other companies."

"When we were fixing up our 30 year old home to sell, we had Scott Garage Concepts come coat epoxy the garage and covered patio floor. The epoxy coating made the home look like new again. We had the buyers offer within 24 hours of posting the home thanks to the new floors, they were one of selling points the buyers loved. We were so pleased with Scott Garage Concepts work that we had them come do our new garage floor. If you are selling a home, I would recommend having this done before putting it on the market, it will help sell the home. I would highly recommend having Scott Garage Concepts come do your home garage floor as well. Your home is a big investment, the epoxy coating will add value, is easy to clean, and well worth the money. While you might think, why coat a garage floor, it's only a garage...when yous see how beautiful it looks, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. It's so beautiful that everyone that sees it for the first time says how great it looks and asks who did the work."

"Highly recommend Empire flooring! They were super fast, like lightning speed fast with delivery and installation of my flooring. Salesman Jason was awesome to work with. Both times i called for consult appts he was professional, accommodating and right on time. First order was for rug installation for two rooms. Second order was for laminate flooring and an additional rug installation for another room. Overall, i can't rave enough about Empire flooring due to their speed and attentive customer service and product quality. Will use again and highly recommend them."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

Sheet vinyl is among the most affordable and durable flooring options, with prices as low as $0.50 per square foot and a lifespan of 10 to 20 years. Other inexpensive and durable choices include standard vinyl plank ($2 to $7 per square foot), which mimics wood or stone and is great for high-traffic areas. Laminate flooring ($1 to $6 per square foot), linoleum, carpeting, and concrete can also be cost-effective options, with prices starting around $2 per square foot.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.
