"I delayed writing this review to give Anderson A/C ample time to deliver the high-quality work I expected. A brand new system was installed, but a series of issues followed upon completion of the project. First, the dehumidifier didn?t work due to an improper wire connection. Then, the A/C unit began dripping water into the emergency drain pan because of a misconnected drain pipe. Later, the P-trap started leaking water into the attic. The quality of Anderson A/C?s workmanship declined quickly?and unfortunately, so did their reputation in my eyes. The staff were friendly, which is why I?m giving them 3 stars instead of just one."

The most obvious sign that your boiler is breaking is not getting any heat or hot water. You might also hear some odd sounds coming from your boiler during operation, the flame in your gas boiler is not blue, the pressure is inconsistent, or your boiler is using more energy than it should. At minimum, you should plan to have your HVAC system serviced once per year, usually leading into either the summer or winter before it sees heavy usage. If you live in a particularly cold, hot, or humid climate, consider servicing your HVAC system twice per year—once in the spring and once in the fall—to keep it running efficiently and prevent it from going down in the high-demand seasons. You can also schedule one-off services if you notice issues like uneven heating or cooling, poor performance, or strange noises from your equipment.

Many states don’t have specific license requirements for HVAC repair companies, but your local city or county might. You can check online for local requirements and then Angi’s contractor licensing tool to see if the company you’re considering is licensed. Regardless of licensing, you should ensure your company is fully insured. We recommend checking to see if the company holds third-party certifications, including North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification and R-410A certification, which qualifies your provider to work with HVAC refrigerants.

It is almost always more affordable to repair a radiator than it is to replace one. The average radiator repair cost is around $150, and it’s typically about ten times as expensive—around $1,500—to replace a radiator. A repair usually takes under an hour, too, while a replacement can take several hours, making it less of a time commitment to repair one.
