"Mr. Jay Harper was our first contact with this company. Very professional and courteous. He examined all work to be completed and provided us a quote on service to include install and painting of siding. He included painting all of our fascia & soffit and also the replacement of a section of fascia that had dry rot. Daniel was the foreman on the crew for this project. He and his crew were outstanding. Everyone was professional, courteous and highly skilled. They did a fantastic job on installation and painting. We have had neighbors complement how our house looks now, and we will definitely recommend this company to others. We would do business with them again."

"Hired them about 8 months ago and the job went fine. Had work done on our veranda and dust was everywhere, so called them a couple of weeks ago, and due to the weather, 2 cases of flu (ours, not theirs) we had to change the date several times - to which they were very accommodating and flexible. As before, it was remarkable how much clearer our windows are!"

"Alex showed up as agreed with his roofer. He promptly assessed the damages to my shingles, provided photos and gave me a competitive price for the job. The work was completed within a couple of hours, at which time he once again sent me photos of the roof repairs to review. I was satisfied with the work and then mailed him a check to cover material and labor. His trust in me showed me that he was both honest and confident in the work to be performs."

"The owners were on-site every day to oversee the quality of the work and communicated with my husband and I throughout the project to assure they understood exactly where we wanted which colors. They understood that we were anxious to move in so we could list our other home and they stayed on track. When the job was complete we were thrilled...the result was a beautiful interior paint job that really updated our 1970's home."

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace a skylight without changing the entire roof—if the roof is in good shape. First, you need to make sure the roof around the skylight is intact and free of damage. Quality installation is crucial to prevent leaks, including replacing the flashing, which seals the skylight to the roof. While replacing the skylight alone is doable, it can make sense to replace both at once to streamline the work, coordinate the warranties, and reduce the risk of future leaks. If you’re unsure, reach out to a professional for help in deciding the best approach.

There are four main types of lighting used in homes: ambient, task, accent, and decorative. Within these categories, there are a number of fixtures to choose from including ceiling-mounted lights, floor lamps, under-cabinet lights, track lighting, and more.

Choosing the fixture that’s right for you depends on your home design and the area you’re looking to illuminate.

Yes, you can install skylights on an existing roof, and it’s a common service that many homeowners opt for, especially on older homes built when skylights weren’t as prevalent. The installation process will be a bit more involved, and the design and planning process will take longer, meaning you’ll pay more to install a skylight on an existing roof than you would in new construction. The process involves cutting a hole in the roof, moving rafters, if necessary, and installing and sealing around the skylight.

Ceiling costs depend on many factors, such as the material used and size, but coffered ceilings are considered one of the more expensive ceiling options. If you want to install a coffered ceiling but have a limited budget, consider using plywood instead of hardwood—it costs $2–$4.50 per square foot, while hardwood can be as much as $20 per square foot.

Yes, solar tubes work during the winter as long as it’s light outside and they aren’t covered by snow. Sun tunnels are made to work year-round to bring in natural light, and some people find them even more beneficial during the winter. With less daylight outside, it can be even more important to bring brightness into homes to reduce electricity costs.
