The company provided a quick and fair quotation using photos and measurements that I provided of the deck along with a description of the services I was requiring.  Upon my acceptance of the quote, the work was scheduled that week.

When the technician arrived, he assessed that due to the previous staining job being performed on wet pressure treated wood that we would need to use a different type of stain product than was originally quoted.  The difference in price was ~$50 and we mutually agreed to the change in scope.

The technician performed the cleaning on the first day.  The cleaning consisted of a blower to remove any large debris and a pressure wash with a cleaning solution.

The staining occurred on day two and was applied with a gas-powered sprayer.  We had chosen a Sherman Williams Solid Color Traditional Russet Superdeck Stain.  As Good As New offered a 3 year warranty for this product.

Upon completion, the technician and I walked the job and looked for missed spots.  We found none.  He then gave detailed instructions on how to care for the new stain and told me to call if we had any issues during the warranty period.

Overall a very positive experience with As Good As New.

"The deck looks great! I used the $199 deal. Please be aware upfront though that this deal covers 200 square feet of deck and/or railings, not 200 square feet of deck including the surrounding railings (in other words, any railing lengths are counted separately from the deck surface), so it doesn't take much to hit 200 square feet. Steps are also extra. My deck is only 160 square feet, but the total square footage with the railings and steps was about 345 square feet. I had them use a Behr Premium Transparent stain color instead of the clear seal, for a modest up-charge. The "Cordovan Brown" color in the transparent finish looks fantastic and the natural wood-grain shows through very well. I don't recommend using a "solid color" finish as you won't see any of the wood grain - those will look like a painted finish, and can also peal over time. My deck is 15 years old and had never been sealed or stained, so it was starting to get very weathered, coated in tree pollen, and rotting in a couple places. The guys from Amy's came on the scheduled day and power washed the deck and railings. This only took them an hour or two. Due to rain in the forecast for the next day, they waited three days before returning to do the staining to make sure the deck would be dry as needed. The staining took several hours longer than expected, but it was a thorough job. Only minor issue was some miss-communication about the total additional costs above the $199 deal (discussed and resolved before the staining work was done), and also the inaccuracy in the completion time they'd told me (resulted in me coming home from work too early). I should mention that they were very responsive by email to questions about various options when the work was scheduled. Ultimately I am happy with the service I received and the deck looks great!"
