Customers say: Quick response

"Daniel Parker, the principle of Unique Transformations, and his co-workers and subs, provided exemplary service, superior quality, superb time management and were all a pleasure to deal with. Daniel executed to all my expectations and then exceeded them. I can't recommend his company more highly! My wife and I are thrilled with the two paired windows "transformed" to two eight foot tall french doors."

He kept in contact throughout the entire time! Reasonable and fair pricing. This was an emergency for me and Mr. Kevin and his squad came through. We will definitely be calling on him again for more carpentry and home improvement jobs! Thank you and I pray nothing but growth and success for you and your business!!"

I’ve worked in construction since 2016 straight out of high school I currently work for a construction contractor but I am looking to take on other projects and continue to make customers proud , I’m very flexible, reliable and responsive. Very easy to get along with. The company that I currently work for understands that I do side projects, and supports it. U can look us up @ Quality Remodel San Antonio “QRSA” on google. "I have two garage doors and one had broken the torsion spring a while back. I called Rafael after reading his reviews on Angie's list. He answered the phone immediately and told me he was available to come over the next day. I couldn't do the next day so we scheduled a visit for that Saturday instead. He showed up, and quickly replaced the spring and serviced/lubricated both doors . He also checked a couple of other things I was having issues with on the other door. Instead of up-charging me for fixing a simple issue, he explained what I would need to do to fix the issues myself and it worked like a charm. I will definitely be using his company again as he provided a great service in a responsive and professional manner."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

Doors questions, answered by experts

A door frame is not the same as a door casing. A door frame is the framework surrounding the entire door that supports the area from which the door hangs. The frame is made up of multiple parts, including the door jamb, head, and sill.

Casing refers to the trim work located around the door frame. It connects the door frame to the wall with decorative trim.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

Installing a dog door into an existing door is a quicker, easier project than installing one in a wall. Installing a pet door into a wall requires cutting through your home’s drywall, ensuring no pipes or wires are cut, and sealing the new opening so as not to compromise the safety and stability of your home’s walls, all of which may be a bigger project than many homeowners are looking to undertake.

Instead of a bifold door, you might look into installing French doors, pocket doors, or sliding doors. Each has its own pros and cons. French doors offer the dual-door advantages that bifold doors do, and pocket doors are excellent space savers—though you’ll need to create a wall cavity to have them installed.

Using force to open a door is not recommended, as this could cause serious injury or permanent damage to your door and surrounding door frame. If it’s a front door that you’ve lost the keys for, it’s better to call a locksmith. If it’s an interior door without any lock that you plan on keeping, a handyman can help. Finally, if it’s an old door that you plan to replace anyway, a professional door installer can remove the stuck door and source a replacement.
