They had a new unit delivered and installed in less than a week in the middle of a summer heat wave. A week later the wire to the thermostat on another unit got cut and after I repaired the visible damage the compressor was still not kicking on. Doc Long runs a company in Holladay, TN called Doc's Trailer Sales. He also locally advertises for backhoe work. So, I contacted him asking for bids. He responded to my request promptly, came and looked at the job and gave me a reasonable quote. I waited until all the bids were in and finally made my decision to go with Doc. He started the job when promised. I wasn't in a hurry and was flexible enough to accommodate his schedule. Initially, they brought out a backhoe to do the work. Later that was changed out to a Bobcat type construction vehicle with a bucket. When they first came, they brought out truck loads of rock to use as backfill. Putting piles of rock down on my graded driveway. Eventually, I had about 6-7 truck loads of rock sitting on my graded driveway in separate piles. My house sits on a hillside, there are two draws along either side of my house that draw together at the lower end of my driveway. Under the driveway, connecting one draw to the other, there is a 3' x 20' galvanized corrugated steel culvert, that allows the water during a rain storm, to pass under the driveway without eating away at the embankment or the driveway. As I'd said earlier, my driveway was graded, and I've had 6"-8" of chert laid on it and graded out to where it was pretty smooth and flat. In late November, Doc's worker came out with another load of rock. They'd been working their way down my driveway with rock piles, with each load they brought. This last one, the worker dropped directly on top of the place where my culvert crosses beneath my driveway. He effectively blocked the high end of the culvert with the pile of rock, Dropping part of the load into the draw and blocking the entrance into the culvert. I mentioned to him that he'd blocked my culvert, thus impeding the drainage. The driver said it was no big deal, the water would filter thru the rock, if it should rain and that they would get the rock out of there when they completed the work. All this time, they'd been working around the weather. It' being winter, we tend to get a lot of rain in this part of Tennessee. So they worked when it was dry and favorable to that kind of earthwork. In late November or early December, shortly after the worker dropped that load of rock on the culver under the driveway, we got some serious rain. The creek on my property rose about 6'-8' in a period of 36 hours. It rained hard for almost 36 hours. When the rain finally broke, I went up to the new house to see what damage there'd been. The lower part of my driveway, from where the blocked culvert was and down, there were huge canyons 6"-8" deep where the rushing water had washed away the chert I'd had put down and graded. The draw on that side of the driveway was all misshapen, filled and the culvert was choked with dirt and rock. When it finally dried out and Doc and his workers returned (about a month later) I showed the damage done, explained that I wanted it corrected and restored to it's original condition. Doc agreed and they set about correcting that and completing the backfill work they'd originally been contracted to do. Doc worked on my culvert, while his worker was doing the backfill with the "Bobcat" behind the house. My house is 60' wide x40' deep with 2 gutters that run 60' along the front and back roof. The front gutter sits 6.5' above the ground, the back gutter sits about 3' above the ground. They are custom made, single piece continuous 6" gutters. While working behind the house doing the backfill work, either Doc's worker or Doc himself hit the back gutter with the "bobcat", crushing my metal roof and tearing the entire front side of the gutter in a long vertical slit. They made an attempt to straighten the gutter somewhat, but it still had a 6" vertical tear on the front face. The following day he called me to advise me that they'd completed the backfill work, and asked about payment. I told him that I was satisfied with the backfill work they'd done and asked him what he intended to do about the damage to my roof and gutter that they'd done. Until I brought up the gutter and roof damage, he had said nothing about it. Most likely wouldn't have. I advised him that I would overlook the damage to my roof as I have spare roof metal and can easily replace that one damaged panel but the gutter would have to be replaced. I gave him the option of having a contractor he knows do the work, or I could have the contractor I used come and replace it. Doc wanted me to pay him for the completed work and that he would have the gutter repaired. He gave me his mailing address and asked me to send him a check for the work. Several days later he called about the check, I advised him that I'd mailed it, but that I'd only sent partial payment (1/2 payment) until the gutter was replaced. He then made an attempt to goad me on the phone, saying "What's the matter, don't you trust me?" I responded with, "Doc, it isn't about trust, it's about business. I'll pay you once the gutter is replaced." Doc then tells me that "his" gutter man is afraid that he can't match the color of my gutter (it's plain white, nothing fancy), and that I'd better get my gutter contractor to replace it and send him the bill. To which I agreed and contacted Porter Gutter in Dickson, TN to have them come and replace the damaged gutter. Ronnie Porter and his crew came the following week and replaced the entire 63' damaged gutter and presented me with a bill for $450.00 I am now sending Doc Long the remainder of his fee along with a copy of the bill from Porter Gutters, less $450.00 Doc Long is fortunate that I have spare metal to replace the crushed roof panel and that I'm willing to change it out. Otherwise, I can pretty safely say that between the gutter and roof damage, he'd have been paying out close to $1000 in damages if I hired contractors to do the repairs. To say that I am dissatisfied with Doc Long is an understatement. His "repair" of the damaged done to my driveway was substandard, when compared to it's original condition before he started. I will still have to have someone come here and re-grade my driveway again, despite his attempt to "fix" it. Only reason I'm not pressing the issue is that I will have the whole driveway done in limestone gravel, packed and graded this summer anyway. Would I recommend Doc Long, or Doc's Sales to anyone, the answer to that is a RESOUNDING NO!

Issues are that he doesn't pay close attention to detail, you have to ride him and do his job for him at times. I assume it may be that he has taken on too much work. Three examples of issues that I've had with him are as follows: Todd asked me to go to Quality Metals in Lobelville, TN to pick out the metal roofing I wanted. I did and picked out both color and thickness, advised Roger at Quality Metals of the color (clay) and thickness (26 ga.) metal I wanted. Todd calls me, asks if I picked out a color, I told him clay, he hangs up. Two days later the metal is delivered and installation begins. Upon checking, the color was right, the thickness was 29ga. not 26ga. He didn't ask me what gauge, just the color. He didn't ask, or Quality Metals never told him I'd picked 26 ga. metal.
My house has three LVLs that support the roof. Along the front LVL, the one that makes the header along the front of the house, he installs 2 pressure treated 6"x6"x8' timbers to support the LVL. When I confronted him about putting pressure treated wood inside a house (in the living areas/living room) he didn't see anything wrong with that. I explained that Pressure Treated wood belonged outside, that it's used to build decks and in landscaping, but not indoors in living areas. I asked the timbers be removed and replaced with seasoned rough sawn Red Oak or White Oak timbers. He says he'll find some, comes back with a proposal for seasoned, finished 10"x10"x10'Red Oak timbers at $208 each. Later I found 30 weathered and seasoned Red Oak timbers myself for $10 each 8"x8"x18' When I had them replace the Pressure Treated wood with the oak timbers I'd bought, instead of cutting them 2" below the top and 2" above the mounting peg on the floor, they cut the pressure treated timbers in half/across the middle, ruining the timbers and reducing them to 3' sections, practically unusable.
Even though from before construction began, Todd Prince Construction, LLC had been given a copy of the house plans and drawings of the intended building. Three months into construction, I noted that the utility room had no floor drain. Even though the room would house a washing machine, 250 gallon hot water heater and a 100 gallon pressure tank. Upon inquiring to Todd about the issue, he had no acceptable response except to suggest to waterproof the room by installing a lip along the framed walls to contain the water.
Lastly, in early August 2011 we had a meeting to discuss closing-in the house (building a roof, roofing, installing front widow frame and seventeen 40"x80" glass panels and the two front doors). Thus making the house contained and protected from the elements. Todd promised that between 15 August 2011 and 15 September 2011, he would build the roof, install the front windows and two entry doors with hardware, for $30,000.00 During this period, Todd Prince decided that the house should be roughed out for electrical, so he brings 5-7 electricians and a master electrician to wire the house. Two weeks past the dead line, with the front windows still uninstalled, front window frame still not built, he presents me with a bill for $40,000.00 (ten days late and 33% over budget). Because I kept pressing Todd about the windows, he had a guy from Waverly Glass come and estimate the front window frame. Estimate was $12,000.00 just to build the metal framework. At that point I was done with Todd Prince Construction, LLC
In short, I got the framework built, soffit installed, 40"x80"x1" double layered, laminated insulated glass panels and labor costs for a total of $10, 781.00
I expect a contractor to know his job, to pay close attention to details, to ask questions, ask questions and ask questions again. I don't expect to have to do his job for him. And changes should be made on paper, to include a signature authorizing the changes. I don't expect to have to take on house building as a second profession. That's why I hired a contractor! I expect a contractor to fulfill promises within the specified timeframe and within projected costs (allowing 3-5% margin for error) I expect contractors to oversee their employees, to respect my land, to take care of the worksite and remove their trash and construction trash. Water Heater Service reviews from real Angi homeowners in Waverly, TN
They took over 10 months to do a shotty job that had a 4-month max deadline. The siding is still falling off the house and they just send random crews to **fix** it. The work provided is horrible and lets tons of water in. If you want a sealed house do not use them. If you want swimming pools...

I've hired One Call twice, both times for broken frozen plumbing. Did a great job getting our water turned back on and repaired and then insulated the pipes so (hopefully) we won't have that problem again.

FAQs for water heater service projects in Waverly, TN
The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500. The location and accessibility of your water heater will play a role in the project cost, as those sitting in tight spaces like a crawl space will drive up your labor costs.
Tankless water heaters are more expensive than those with a storage tank, but they come with some impressive benefits that most homeowners find worth the higher investment. Most importantly, they provide unlimited hot water, so you’ll never run out like you would with a storage tank. Tankless heaters are also more efficient, so comparing gallon-for-gallon, you’ll spend less on hot water with a tankless heater. Tankless water heaters are also smaller, require less maintenance, and tend to last longer than storage tank water heaters.
It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.
In most municipalities, a license is not mandatory for water heater installation or replacement. However, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed plumber or water heater installer to handle the work. Licensed installers are far less likely to make a mistake during the installation, which means paying for the experience decreases your risk of a leak and other issues. You can use our state licensing tool to find out if a contractor you’re considering in your area holds a plumber’s license.
