"The Torres family did an awesome job in repairing my emergency drywall problem. Mr. Torres came to my house the next morning after I called him . The ceiling in my laundry room started to leak water from above . The drywall and insulation was destroyed. Now it looks like nothing ever happened. They also left the area very clean and was professional from beginning to end. Then they connected me with a painter to finish the job. He also did a good job . I would call them again."

"Corey arrived on time, fixed my front entry hallway ceiling and wall drywall repairs so professionally that it's impossible to tell where the patches were if I hadn't already known as he was able to match the wall paint color (green) and ceiling pattern perfectly. He also thoroughly cleaned the entire worksite."

"Brett was very professional, respectful, trustful and helpful. They not only did our drywall but also did the painting. After the work they did on this job we are having them do the drywall and paint on our other project also. If you are looking for someone to do drywall or painting I would recommend using them for the job."

"I have had two projects that I chose Vicente Gonzales, owner of J.B. Paint & Drywall Corp. The first was a roof leak that created some serious rework to our staircase. He did a super job. The second job was an interior painting project. We had rented the home for 12 years and it was clearly in need of repairs of the walls. The house now look brand new. Vicente is easy to work with, he and his team are craftsmen at what they do. They work hard, get the job done and offer very reasonable pricing. I will certainly continue to utilize J. B. Paint & Drywall for all of our painting and drywall needs."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If you plan on heating your garage, you must install a vapor barrier when drywalling the garage. A vapor barrier protects your garage from frost and mold that can occur through condensation. If your garage is unheated, you don't need to install a vapor barrier. The only exception is if you regularly crank the heat in your car before getting in it. In this case, you may still want to install a vapor barrier, as your car can heat your garage.

Drywall can get wet and dry out without sustaining permanent damage, but only if the water damage is minor. If you have a small leak and are quick to correct the issue and set up blower fans and dehumidifiers, your drywall should dry out. If the leak is persistent, the drywall becomes totally waterlogged, or mold begins forming on the drywall, you should remove and replace it.

Drywall can be toxic to the environment and to humans in some cases. As drywall breaks down in a landfill and comes in contact with other organic chemicals, it can create hydrogen sulfide gas or leach into the groundwater. Additionally, the CDC recommends methods for controlling the inhalation of drywall dust when handled. While the common ingredients of drywall—gypsum, silica, and mica—are naturally occurring, they can cause irritation in some humans.

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.

Installing or repairing plaster on ceilings differs slightly from performing the same motions on a wall. You’ll apply slightly less plaster to lower the overall weight of the ceiling. Wall texturing is common, whereas most ceilings are smooth plaster. Tough coat plaster is strong, meaning you can use less while retaining a solid surface.
