"It was a great experience. Eric was very personable, listening to what I wanted to have done. He started the job promptly the day he scheduled. The tile work in the shower was excellent, especially the consistent spacing between the tiles. He cleaned up the area well after the job. The new bathroom looks great !"

"Out of all the quotes I received Stefaniak construction provided the best price as well as filling me with confidence that I had hired the right guys for the job. My house is 130 years old so to say there are quirks would be an understatement. When a problem was discovered I promptly received a call asking how I wanted to proceed and we discussed the options. I appreciated this as most contractors simply plow ahead to get the job done and get paid. So in short I would highly recommend Stefaniak construction if you want a job done right and affordably. I would and in fact have hired them again to do additional masonry work on my home."

"The installation job went fine.  Prompt and quick service.  This was done before we actually moved into the condo.  We moved from the 4/26/13 to 4/30/13.  Clothes were now on the shelves.  The new wire hanged for my wife's clothing was the only hanger on that side of the walk-in closet and was capable for short and long clothing.  Within a two weeks after putting in the clothes my wife noticed that the attachment which held the hanger to the wall on one end had come completely out of the wall and was not holding up the clothes and left a two by four inch hold in wall.
When she noticed it she called the man who supervised the job and he came the very next day.  Put in some support on both ends of the rack and took a picture of the hold and said he would get back with us.  After a week we called the supervisor.  Did not return our call.  We tried the office and had trouble getting anyone to answer the phone and when we finally did, we were told that they would put us on the schedule for repairs.
We finally got the owner's name and phone number the third week of June.  He and the supervisor came the next day and repaired the whole in the wall and told the supervisor to come back the following day and put in some supports in the wall where their was two by four support.  He did come the next day and put in two supports but not in wood.  Not necessary he said.  So far the shelf is hold and the whole in the wall is fixed.  But too entirely too long and two much calling.

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.
