With winter coming I contracted with Sterling about a week before Thanksgiving to replace all the windows in our house. They told me they could only promise installation before Christmas! Suprize, they call me on Dec. 1 and asked if they could the installation of all of the windows the next day. They showed up at 8:30am and by 4:30pm they were finished. They even removed all the curtains & blinds before starting and reinstalled them after. They were very professional and left all areas clean. I hired Sterling based on recommendations of 2 friends who have used them and 2 quotes from local window companies. They also have a great lifetime warranty that is totally transferable without a fee. Very happy with their work and their professionalism.

Very pleasant to work with.  I did not realize that there would be some damage to the paint around the windows and they do not repair.  Otherwise, love the windows and a good price and made sure to let us know that they would warranty windows even if we sold the house.  I would absolutely use again!

Talked to or phoned many window people before choosing Sterling.  David, the salesman, was the only dealer who could do what I wanted---place a window where there was currently none.  Energy auditor later viewed my home and said I couldn't purchase a better window. 
The installers were great.  Neat, clean and like an orchestrated symphony.  One worked outside and the other inside. The finish on the exterior is exceptional.  The outside look of the finished product is just as important as window quality.   I am extremely pleased with the results inside and out.

As promised and per contract. They came back in a timely manner to add two (2) J-channels and provided warranty card which they forgot on their initial visit. All work was done in a professional manner by the installers and they did a very nice job in caulking the windows in the inside of the rooms. There has been no issues with the windows since installation in 2012.

Good, quality work, good windows, good value.  Very efficient.  The main sales guy is a little overboard, pushy and hard to get to shut up and move on, but overall, good stuff.

I called Sterling Windows to check on whether the glass could be replaced and what it would cost.  The windows had been installed before we purchased the house and we have lived here for over 5 years.  Sterling Windows called back in a timely manner with the information and told me how long it would take to order the glass and how long it would take to put the glass in once I brought the frame in.  They did give me the option of having a serviceman come to my home but they also instructed me as to how to get the window out of the frame if I wanted to bring it in.  Everything happened just the way they said.  I waited for them to put the glass in and wasn't there 20 minutes before I had my window back good as new.  They are a friendly bunch at Sterling Windows and I will definitely use them again if and when we need window service.

The guys were very country, as it is a local company. One guy looked like Santa Claus.  None of this has any real relevance to the review besides to say they definitely had a riffing dynamic where they made fun of one another and complained about each other when some of the others were not around.  I suppose this is typical workforce behavior.  Whatever.  I spent most of the time away so I didn't have to listen to it.
The foreman needed prompted a lot and wanted to show me how stuff was done (like how to do the job) which I could care less about.  He got sick part way through the job and had to have one of the other guys take over on the biggest job which was the back door.  
In the end they took off all the trim that existed around the windows and did a pretty d*** good job putting to back to the original way it was without charging me extra.  They removed all the old windows from my premises and didn't leave a big crappy mess like I have read some other window companies have done.  I was happy, the price was good, it was just all a new experience to me.
I would recommend them to anyone in Knoxville because they met my expectations, were local workers, the windows were locally made, and the company is local.

This was the ONLY company that offered advice as well as providing prices for what we asked about.  Their advice saved us literally thousands of dollars. Most of the other companies seemed just interested in billing the most dollars.
He was also the fastest response and took the time to take me on a tour of their factory and explain their window systems to me.
In addition he lowered his price because of the volunteer nature of our charity AND then, when one of the windows had a slight mar, the installation tech just ordered a new window and it was recently installed with no fuss.

Everything went really well. The salesman, David Lance, came to our house to make a presentation and give us a quote. We had 4 different window companies give us quotes. Two of them were WAY too expensive, and the fourth just didn't impress us. David was friendly, professional, and didn't waste our time. He gave us an estimate while he was there and gave us a time frame. The price was right and the windows actually arrived before David said they would. His installers worked really hard and finished all 31 windows in 3 days. An error had been made in the 8 of the windows ordered, so they were promptly reordered and replaced. David came to check on his installers a couple of times. We are very happy with thee windows and with the whole process and we highly recommend Sterling Windows.

Pursuant to a TVA energy audit, we solicited bids from different window companies. We were uncertain whether we wanted to go the vinyl or wood window route. After consulting with three firms, we chose Sterling Windows. David Lance came for the consultation, and when we sat down with him, we were comfortable with his honesty, knowledge, and the fact that he was part of the family-owned business.

The two gentlemen who arrived on the day of the installation were timely and professional. The installation went without a hitch, and we were very pleased with the quality of the installation.

We wouldn't hesitate to use their services again, as well as recommend them to others. Sterling had been recommended to us by two different sources, so their reputation is very good with the people we know to have used them.

We got 3 estimates before we decided on Sterling. We had 12 windows to replace that were in terrible shape. The estimate only took about 30 minutes (Home Depot wasted 2 hours of my life). Once we decided on Sterling we waited 4 weeks, which was communicated up front. 2 installers showed up at 8:30 on the chosen day. They worked all day, breaking for a 1 hour lunch. They stopped work at 4pm and came back at 8:30am the next day to finish the last 2 windows. Chazz and Chuck were both polite and respectful inside my home. They even repaired the sheetrock in my bathroom that was water damaged due to the leaking windows. The only complaints I have would be leaving the radio on in the truck all day long and smoking on my property. With the windows open, the smoke drifting in was awful. But these complaints are very minor compared to the quality of work they performed.

Our estimate was given quickly and accurately, and helpful suggestions were made about what might look good. The crew was prompt and friendly. They completed each window and cleaned up before moving on to the next one. They were careful with my floors and walls and my new framed in windows are beautiful. I would definitely use them again.

Overall satisfied with work performed. Sterling was not the cheapest quote we received, but considering the quality of product we felt that it was overall the best deal. Sales manager was very professional and quick to respond to any questions we had. The crew arrived to install our windows on time and were very professional. They disposed of the old windows and cleaned up prior to leaving.
My only complaint is that they were supposed to replace sections of rotting wood exterior trim around a window. After taking a few extra minutes to point out specific areas of concern to the crew, they assured me this was no problem and once capped with flashing this would no longer be an issue. However, after the job was completed, I discovered rather than replacing the rotting sections of wood...they simply capped over it with flashing. I subsequently contacted the sales manager and discussed the issue with him.
Again, I am happy with the product Sterling provided. They are quality windows and, for the most part, the staff were very helpful, responsive, and professional. That being said, I will not be using them again in the future nor will I recommend them. I simply cannot recommend a company to someone who states they are going to do something and then does not do it. If you are supposed to replace a section of wood, REPLACE IT, do not cover it up with a piece of flashing and tell the homeowner it is fixed. To us, it is an issue of ethics and trust. Even if management is not aware of these practices by their installers, such actions do directly reflect on them and their business.

They have a wide selection of windows to choose from. I have used them in the past and I was just real happy with their service and how they do the business. They are the people who work and don't use contractors.. My daughter has also used them for her new windows.

Did a great job with installation and clean-up. Had a follow up call to make a couple of tweaks and they followed through and came out and did exactly what they said they would. And this was even after they had already been paid, which is the TRUE test to customer service! Love my windows, have had them open every day I'm not working, very easy to use and beautiful. Can tell a definite difference in the temp in my house, haven't had the heat or air on since the windows were installed, and no more drafts! Sales manager was so great, even came out twice beforehand because we had so many questions. ALWAYS answered his cell phone when you called him and always followed through.

This company provides and installs solid windows and doors. I had them perform some follow on work with gutter installation and have had some issues with the ability to check quality. For example, I have about a 20 foot run of guttering on the back of the house with a downspout one end. The guttering section was bowed to the point water was draining to both ends and not the one with the provided downspout. On another occasion, I had a sliding glass door where a 2"X12" was used to frame in the door. The existing 2" X 12" was rotten up for about 18 to 20". Instead of using a new piece of wood the existing was reused. I feel like this company doesn't do a good job inspecting their own work and the end user, who in my case, is very busy discovers issues like these some time later.

Overall Sterling Window was good. I would hire them again in the future if I need replacement windows.
