"Jacob W. did an amazing job when he came out and inspected my cabin's foundation. He was on time, professional, and friendly. The best part was that he gave me the great news that there were no foundation issues to be concerned about and that everything looked good."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired them to demolish and haul off an old shed (12x16 ft.) and do the site prep and construction of a framed gravel pad for a new one. The work was challenging: narrow, steep, curving driveway with a gate; fence on side and back of the work area; junk, including an old concrete pad, under the old shed; sloped site. The owner discussed the job and provided cost estimate(s), negotiated schedule, worked with me to resolve unforeseen issues, focused on the job so it was completed in a timely manner, and was pleasant to deal with. The work was done by an experienced, careful, hard-working, and reliable person who did an outstanding job. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone who needs site prep work done."

""The deck they built for me was top notch. The process was very smooth. I called, explained what I was looking for, they came out and took measurements, then worked with me to get all my material types and colors pin pointed. After I put the material list deposit down they put me on the schedule, showed up and knocked it out! Thank you all so much, no more splinters ! Wonderful job"

The client went with a two-tone Trex design, creating a sharp contrast that highlights the picture frame layout. This design not only looks great but also helps define the space visually.

"The team with Gator Cut & Construct did a great job replacing the liner in our above ground pool. After working through some weather delays, they knocked it out. They are experienced and knowledgeable about the process. They took care of some unforseen issues below the pool before installing the new liner. It was a little more involved than originally thought but they addressed everything at a fair price. I would recommend them and will call them again for any pool maintenance needs. Thanks Matthew, I appreciate your help!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.

Removing paint from brick can have both aesthetic and practical value. Some people prefer the timeless look of bare brick, making it worthwhile to remove old paint layers. Brick also lasts longer when unpainted, as paint traps moisture, causing the brick to deteriorate more quickly. If your brick walls are already in bad shape, stripping the paint off might do more harm than good.

Two types of masonry are veneer masonry and solid masonry. Veneer masonry is thin brick or stone material attached to the face of a building. With veneer masonry, the walls support the weight of the masonry products rather than the masonry being built on a concrete footing. Solid masonry is a wall or other brick or stone structure built on a concrete footing, and the masonry supports itself.

Costs range from $3,500 to $15,000, depending on material, labor, and design complexity.

You can use adhesive strips to hang lights on brick—just make sure you get outdoor mounting tape and not just any old double-sided tape for your project.
