"I have to be honest. Wyatt's Construction and Roofing was the first to respond to my request for a roofing quote. From start to finish they did a excellent job. Their experience shows in the job they did on my roof. They made a hard job look easy. My roof was leaking and needed replaced. They didn't waste any time, got the job reroofed with metal in a very timely manner. They cleaned up couldn't even tell they were there. No leaks, and I've got a long lasting metal roof. I'm a happy customer. Thanks again to Wyatt's Construction and Roofing! Richard Myers"

"Mike went above and beyond to make sure our roof was installed properly and promptly after being scammed by Rick Whitaker roofer. I cannot thank him enough for such a wonderful job and especially for being super professional! Highly recommend this business!"

"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"We had several leaks in our steel roof. The leaks were confined to the south side of the house, and we weren't sure how many leaks there were or where they were. Pisgah Roofing & Restoration came by, assessed the situation, and scheduled a team of roofers to come by and fix the leaks. It's been a while since they came by to fix the roof, and we haven't had one leak since then! We are confident now that Pisgah Roofing & Restoration completely fixed our roof."

"I have used Residence Roofing & Restoration for two separate homes now and they are such a pleasure to work with! The owner, Joey, personally came out and assessed the home less than an hour after my initial phone call! Most other companies that I called never even answered the phone or returned my messages. RRR provided me with an estimate quickly and addressed all of my concerns. Their work is excellent and they completed the job on time and without complications. I couldn't have asked for a smoother process. I will definitely be calling Residence Roofing again!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A shingle roof costs between $7,500 and $24,000 in total. The exact cost depends on the size of your roof and the number of bundles of shingles required. A bundle of shingles typically costs between $40 and $60, though contractors might be able to get a lower price than you’d get buying from a local hardware store.

Yes, you can walk on torch down roofing. It is durable and tear-resistant enough to handle that kind of low-level wear. Remember that torch down roofing can get uncomfortably hot in certain climates. Dark roofing absorbs heat and can burn bare feet. If you want to use a roof deck for lounging, you may want to install a lighter-colored PVC membrane.

When it comes to choosing the best roof color for a blue exterior, you have plenty of options. For a classic neutral look, go with a light gray, dark gray, or black roof. Blend gray tones if you want a more eye-catching look for your roof, or go for a different splash of color with a green or even red. Take inspiration from your neighbors if you want your house to fit in on the block.

Underlayment is required by building code, so any roof installed without it is technically against code. The underlayment acts as the second layer of defense against water, so installing a roof without underlayment means a much higher risk of roof leaks. You’ll have the best chance of avoiding roof leaks if you install drip edge flashing covered by underlayment, and then install your roofing material over that.

Though roof coatings can last up to two decades, it’s a good idea to recoat your roof every four to six years. This is especially important if you have a built-up roof, which is vulnerable to moisture issues. Inspect your built-up roofs annually to make sure they don’t need a new coat.
