"Jamie absolutely saved the day. We hired a "contractor " who could install the new flooring as well as some other work we needed done. His work dragged on for three months. As soon as he got some money he bailed leaving us with a nightmare of unfinished work. What little he had done was very poorly installed. Jamie from Expansive Flooring Solutions came in, showed us exactly what had been done wrong, gave us a great quote, told us exactly what we would need and a firm timeline. He was true to his word at every turn, communicated really well and while he peeled back the layers of the work that had been previously done, kept us really well informed. Jamie fixed all the terribly shoddy work, repaired all the short cuts and installed our flooring the right way. Jamie went above and beyond to get it right. "I called Benchmark Maid around 5 PM on Wednesday to schedule service for the same week. They were able to send a team over the very next day. The appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM until 5:30 PM ?? a total of 3 hours for two people (or 6 working hours) at a fairly competitive (but a little higher than others) cost of $149 for the entire block of time. I was a little surprised when they told me I would need to supply paper towels and trash can liners. Other services I have used provide their own.
The team of two ladies (Maleny and Hortencia) arrived around 2:40 PM (which was acceptable to me) and promptly went to work at 2:45 PM. They were very focused on their work and used their time well to get all the work I needed done. The quality of their work was good but could be improved in a couple of ways (which I will detail below). They left around 5:50 PM or 5:55 PM. So they gave us a full 3 hours of service as we expected.
Both ladies were polite and professional. They are both Hispanic. Maleny spoke English moderately well. Hortencia seemed to be just beginning with her understanding and use of English. But I was able to communicate what I needed to them well enough in English through Maleny.

• The primary opportunity for improvement I saw and would recommend is that the cleaning staff (at least in my case) be supplied with better equipment by Benchmark Maid.
• ? The small canister vacuum cleaner they brought with them looked rather tired (or well-used, including some parts that had been repaired with duct tape) and was mousey (probably not powerful enough to do a good job on the rugs and carpet). I believe they did the best they could with what they had, but they need a vacuum cleaner that has a motorized, power-brush attachment for vacuuming rugs and carpet. The bare floor attachment they used was fine for bare floors, but they need something more powerful for rugs and carpet.
• ? Some bathroom areas that were cleaned had a musty odor. I think some of the cleaning cloths they used needed to be laundered better. The pleasant fragrances from their products helped cover this up, but I could still detect some mustiness the next day.

If I use Benchmark Maid again, I will inspect their equipment first. They can use my vacuum equipment if they do not or are unable at this time to upgrade theirs. If their cleaning cloths smell musty, I will ask them to replace them with cleaner cloths before proceeding with their work. And I will pay closer attention to see if they take the unused portion of the rolls of paper towels with them or leave them with me.
