"A+++Absolutely gorgeous landscaping job! Everyone who comes to our home brags on the sidewalk and landscaping on the front of our house! These folks are a joy to work with! Honest, pleasant, hardworking... and they go above and beyond to make the customer happy! My yard looks SO much nicer! They have removed an old sidewalk and overgrown shrubs and replaced it with a beautiful stone walkway, a stone border, and lovely plants. Since that job was completed they have returned to fill and seed around a new concrete driveway, and to do mowing. Their prices are very reasonable, and best of all, these are people you can trust to do what they say they will. I will definitely be calling them for any type of landscaping!"

However, the fastest method of killing tree roots is applying chemical herbicide, which starts working quickly and efficiently. Other options like rock salt and stump grinding work relatively quickly and cause less damage to your yard.

Using a drill to bore holes in the stump's center speeds up the process, whatever method you use. If you don’t have a drill, you can still chainsaw or chisel the stump to make it hollow; it will just take more elbow grease and time. Steer clear of burning the stump to hollow it if you can’t drill some holes in it first. Otherwise, getting it to light, stay lit, and burn right through will be a challenge.

There are many ways to cut through roots when digging, especially if your trencher doesn’t seem to be removing the roots. First, use a shovel to expose the roots. You can often dig out the stump once it’s deteriorated or cover the area with soil or mulch to allow the stump to rot away naturally.
