You cannot tile directly over hot mop waterproofing because tile requires a smooth, solid surface to adhere properly. However, you can hot mop and apply a sloped mortar bed over the top (to which the tile can then be adhered). 

You can use sanded or unsanded grout for a shower pan, but sanded grout isn’t the best option for shower walls. If cracks occur after impact damage, hiring a professional tile contractor to replace the cracked tiles, fix loose floor tiles, and restore the grout around them can prevent further damage. It is also important to keep your tile and grout clean and maintained to prolong its life.
