We're a local, family owned and operated paving business that's had the same staff for over 20 years. We're only not loyal to you, but also our staff. Whether you need potholes in your residential parking area filled and repaired or a building pad paved for your residential project, you can count on the experienced professionals at IHY Asphalt. When you hire us, expect us to complete the job on the same day!

"Aug 5th the work was done, next day it rained water was ankle deep in front of my door. I called Harry he said he was booked the next 2weeks. He was supposed to call me Friday as to when he could correct the problem. No call yet. I have pictures of the flooding. I have to use a sump pump when it rains, so I don't have flooding in my house."

We specialize in asphalt paving for commercial and residential properties. Our services include tar and chip as well as seal coating. Our family owned business prides ourselves on being personable and friendly and keeping our customers satisfied we have been in business for over 30 years and enjoy seeing our customers smile with our finished services .

"We had TriStar pave our driveway in the beginning of June. On June 23rd I contacted them about the uneven lines left from the steam roller, low spots where water collects, rough areas that have boot prints, etc. and was told that they would come out to repair as soon as they had a crew in the area. In July I reached out again for another issue, trees and vines growing through the asphalt where it is laid very thin. I understand over time vegetation may grow, but less than 2 months? Once again I was told they would repair when in the area. In August I again reached out for yet more issues, the asphalt was laid with pine cones in it and now they are breaking up the asphalt and the area that was thinly laid has more plants coming through, pretty much in a straight line. This time the response was the same we will fix when in the area and that I should not be having these issues. Since, then I have found more areas where the asphalt had debris mixed in and it is staring to break up. It is now September and no one has tried setting up a time to fix, I feel as a paid customer, I shouldn't have to wait this long for a crew to be in the area to fix. I'm not sure if it is truly because there is not a crew in the area or if it is because I turned down the $2,300 sealing that they called me about the next day after paying almost $20,000 for the work. They left limbs broken and hanging even though I let them use my chainsaw, tools laying in the grass and clumps of asphalt in the yard that I had to pick up so I wouldn't hit while mowing."

Paving for over 20 years, we treat every project as if it was for our own home. We provide quality work in a timely manner. If you are not happy, than we are not happy! We look forward to building relationships with my clients, and we guarantee your satisfaction. Accredited Better Business Bureau member.

"These guys are amazing. Came gave me an estimate and then came back on agreed date. They built up my entrance from previous paving so my motorhome didn't drag when I came off the road. Then they sealed my entire drive. Very reasonable and quality work. Had a small hole appear near a culvert from previous paving company work and Tri-County came and repaired that too. If you have paving needs be sure to call Tri-County. "

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Installing a heated driveway is often worth the cost because it will significantly boost a home's value, especially in areas that often suffer from heavy snow and freezing temperatures. Even if you only install the basic components and never activate the heating system yourself, giving the future buyer an option to finish the system can still increase your home’s value.

Regular sealing, crack filling, and professional inspections help extend pavement lifespan and prevent costly repairs.

Driveways last 25 to 50 years, but you’ll notice cracks and possible missing pieces during this time. Regular maintenance, such as filling cracks, reapplying sealer, and ensuring that water does not erode the base material, can help extend the lifespan of your driveway. Gravel driveways should be regraded to fill in uneven areas every year or two, depending on how frequently it is needed.

This creates a risk for your driveway to fail after asphalt curing because it doesn't have a lasting bond with the surface. In order to get asphalt to perform as intended, it's necessary to prepare the dirt surface correctly first. The loose soil base under the new driveway must be compacted until it is stable enough to support the weight of the asphalt.
