At Keller Heating and Air we provide complete services of residential heating and air conditioning systems. If you need installation, maintenance or repair of your Air Conditioner, Furnace, Heat Pump, Gas Pack or Gas Logs we have you covered for all types and brands of residential equipment.

"Our AC unit went out on July 2nd. We called several companies that told us they wouldn't be able to look at our unit until the following week. Keller's owner Glenn came out that evening and determined that the compressor was done. Within a few hours Keller provided several options. We made the decision to replace the unit and Keller had a crew onsite at 8am on July 4th. We were thrilled they were able to order a unit and have a crew servicing clients on the 4th! This is a top notch family owned and run company and I strongly recommend them. Thank you Kelly and Glenn! Trey Sheehan"

Jim Dickerson Company, Plumbing, Electrical, Heating & Air is a family owned and operated company serving the Charlotte and surrounding areas. Jim, a Charlotte native, learned the plumbing trade from his father-in-law, Chester H. Creed, and worked with him for many years before starting his own company. Jim, along with his wife Judy, formed Jim Dickerson Plumbing in 1977. What began as a one truck operation has grown steadily over the years, and today we have a fleet of over 20 service vans. In 2005, we moved to our current 11,000 square foot location. This facility includes a 7,000 square foot warehouse that allows us to stock many commonly used parts, water heaters, and fixtures which helps us in providing prompt service. Jim's daughters, Debbie and Angie, decided after college to join the company and they currently manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including Customer Service, Sales and Marketing, and Accounting. If you have a plumbing or electrical question or would like to schedule a service call, please call us and experience first-hand our warm, friendly customer service. No subs. Charges hourly rate. Extra charge for after hours services. License # 07746. May contact through e-mail. *2014 Super Service Award Winner*

"My system went out on my AC and Jim Dickerson was called out to repair it from my warranty company. After the Dickerson company left, I was told I need a new system. The Dickerson Company left and advised that they were call me with the pricing for a new system. I called and got a new quote from another AC company that’s reputable in this area. After the new company came, it was brought to my attention that my AC system was trashed. I called Jim Dickerson and was told that it wasn’t them I received another opinion and this from another reputable company, and this time they took pictures and videos. After looking at the pictures and videos I called Jim Dickerson back and was told again that they didn’t do it. I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of because I’m a single black female living alone! I need a lawyer ASAP."

NASCAIR is North and South Carolina AIR, a residential heating and cooling service company. NASCAIR specializes in service, maintenance and replacement of air conditioning and heating equipment. At NASCAIR, we know how to install air conditioning systems and A/C systems better than any of our competitors, hands down. We know this because there are no sales people, no subcontractors, no amateurs allowed. We, David and Jay, install each job ourselves with the assistance of helpers. We oversee every aspect of the job from start to finish. We do the best job of designing duct sealing duct and getting air to whatever part of the house that needs it, period.

"I needed a whole house humidifier replaced. The company servicing my house preferred installing a bypass vs the steam I had. I contacted David via a friends recommendation and quickly determined he knew a lot about humidificario. Ended up with April Aire 800. They removed my old one and added the new one. Price came down from original quote because 220v and water line were already there. System is working great"

At Queen City Plumbing, we don’t have commission driven plumbers that their honesty is affected by what their paycheck looks like that week. All of our plumbers are honest, have been drug tested, background checked, and are paid a salary not commission.

"We've been using Queen City since moving to our new business location almost two years ago. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable, and excellent at communicating with us every time. This past visit, Hayden came after hours (we were desperate with a leaking toilet!) and his visit was quick, efficient, and effective. Highly recommend."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Like other kinds of masonry and brickwork, a properly installed chimney should have a lifespan that extends beyond multiple generations of homeowners. But there are parts of the chimney that will need to be replaced more frequently.

  • Clay tile or cast-in-place liners should be replaced every 50 years.

  • Stainless steel liners will last an average of 15–20 years.

  • Mortar will require replacement every 25–30 years.

  • Chimney crowns have an average lifespan of 50–75 years.

Chimney caps are necessary both from a building safety standpoint in most municipalities and to keep your home protected from a variety of issues. Chimney caps are not only mandated by building code in most areas, but they also serve to keep squirrels, raccoons, and other pests out of your home, as well as snow and rain. Therefore, they help to avoid property damage, making them a worthwhile investment.

Common problems include pilot light failure, clogged burners, and faulty ignition systems. Regular maintenance prevents many issues.

No, a chimney crown is not the same as a chimney cap. A chimney crown is a flat cement area on top of a masonry chimney. It starts where the masonry part of the chimney ends at the very top and domes upward toward the flue opening. A chimney cap sits on top of the crown over the flue. It is usually made of metal and allows smoke to escape without letting in rainwater.

A fireplace hearth is necessary in most areas per building codes, especially for gas and wood-burning fireplaces. Electric fireplaces may not require a hearth, so check local building codes or ask a pro for guidance if you’re leaning toward electric. A fireplace hearth can decrease the risk of flying embers creating a fire and burning your home down. That’s why fireproof material, like tile, is used for the hearth.
