The Almetal Dryer Vent

Steve came by my place today, cleaned the vent, and adjusted my almetal vent, which he installed eight years ago. Steve is a true professional, and I highly recommend him. His communication skills are excellent, and he even responded to me on a Sunday about an approximate arrival time on Monday. He sent me a video of the debris removal process, so I could see how much lint was trapped in the line. He cleaned up after himself and was very pleasant to talk to. I wish all contractors were as good as Steve.

Steve came by and cleaned out the vent and put a metal piece on the back of the hose. He told me everything was fine and if I had a problem he would come back and fix it. The next day I tried the dryer and it did not work. I called Steve and e-mailed him but he would not return my calls so I finally had another company come and repair the dryer. I do not like people who do not stand behind their work.

Great job. I don't know how the job could have been accomplished without their innovative vent design.

He found a big wad of lint and removed it.

It went very smoothly.  He was knowledgeable, made excellent suggestions, kept the work area clean.  Communication was top notch.

It went very well. Steve was on time and very polite and professional. He took time to answer several questions I had about my dryer and the vent. He was especially kind and attentive to our dog, a little old lady Beagle. Some service men who come totally ignore her. He cleaned the vent and told me it was not as dirty as I had expected it to be. He also checked the flex pipe that went from the dryer to the solid metal pipe in the floor. He said I had perfect air flow now. He did an additional favor for me. Because of the relocation of our dryer when we built the house, there was a hole in the wall where the original vent was planned. It had been covered with an old fashioned dryer vent cover and it was loose. He tightened it up and sealed it off for me so it will not get loose again. I would definitely recommend Almetal to others.

Steven arrived on time, assessed the area to be worked on.  Determined what type of dryer vent would best serve our needs and installed it.  He created a new vent area closest to the dryer which necessitated cutting a new hole in  the outside wall and installing the vent. He caulked and sealed all new areas, and cleaned up after he was finished.

It was great. I liked the guy. It wasn't as much as I thought it would be so I was pleasantly surprised. He threw in some extra stuff too that was actually added service. He was very courteous and nice. He cleaned up very well after himself and was very punctual.

He went outside, hooked up something and got it cleaned.

I hated how our builder configured our laundry room. In order to move things around, I needed a solution to the tight corner the dryer vent hose would need to make. I called and spoke to the owner. He was awesome! Very prompt, answered all of my questions and put up with my dog and 7 year old son who wanted to "help"! He gave me a lot if piece of mind knowing that it was done and done right. He wasn't the cheapest but in my opinion and experience he was the best!

Ray and his assistant were prompt, polite and quick to get everything done. I love the new low-profile dryer venting system. I can now push my washer and dryer almost completely against the wall, which was the objective in selecting Ray's product. Thank you Ray!

I'm new to Angie's List and this is my first review. Our clothes dryer was taking longer and longer to dry even a small load. I knew this was a problem and needed professional attention considering the money we spent for high efficiency washer and dryer. I had blown the vent out myself on several occassions, but the results didn't last very long
I noticed the Almetal Dryer Vent ad in Angie's List January edition of "Best & Worst Contractors". Ray and Steve were very polite, knowledgable and went above and beyond to fix our dryer duct to the outside of the house. As the result of poor construction a dead space inside the duct was collecting lint and moisture. The home builders ran flex duct over the top of a 3" water pipe in the wall. Ray and Steve were able to work around the water pipe and installed a metal duct removing the dead space.
Our next load of laundry dryed completely and in half the time.

USFA Releases New Report on Clothes Dryer Fires in Residential Buildings:
An estimated 2,900 clothes dryer fires in residential buildings are reported to U.S. fire departments each year and cause an estimated 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss.

Clothes dryer fire incidence in residential buildings was higher in the fall and winter months, peaking in January at 11 percent.
Failure to clean (34 percent) was the leading factor contributing to the ignition of clothes dryer fires in residential buildings.
Dust, fiber, and lint (28 percent) and clothing not on a person (27 percent) were, by far, the leading items first ignited in clothes dryer fires in residential buildings.
Fifty-four percent of clothes dryer fires in residential buildings were confined to the object of origin.

We were having problems with our dryer taking longer than normal to finish. I contacted Ray and setup an appointment for a few days later.  On the scheduled day Ray and his assistant showed up on time.  They quickly assessed the problem and quoted me a very fair price.  Work was completed in about 40min and tested to prove that it works as expected.  Ray cleaned up when we was finished and put the dryer back into it's spot. Our dryer now finishes quickly like it did when it was new.  I highly recommend this service to other members.

Ray and his assistant Steve were very prompt for the appointment time that was set up.  We discussed what had happened.  My husband and I had bought a new washer and dryer from Whirlpool and not long after we had started using it, the red "check dryer vent" light came on. We previously had the shiny thin dryer vent that is usually installed with dryers and that just wasn't working any more.  Since we are members of Angie's List, we found Almetal Dryer Vent company in the booklet that comes out monthly and called them up for an appointment.  Ray was very thorough in the questions he asked about my dryer, so he could determine my best needs for the Almetal product.  Very professional and friendly attitude when they came out to do the work.  I would highly recommend this company to replace your dryer vent.  The drying time now has been cut by 1/3 to 1/2 of the time previously, which will save on my electricity bill too!  Thank you Ray!

They were very informative and communicated well.  They called me to set up the appointment and called before they arrived to my house. The owner came on site with his worker which I really appreciated. They did exactly what they advertised and they explained everything to me very thoroughly and how to take care of the system. They were very fast and cleaned up well after themselves.

Highly recommend.  Very friendly and professional.  Ran gas line from crawl space furnace through my deck so i coul hook up new natural gas grill.  Very pleased with work and cost.
