"Biotek is the best, most compassionate company I've ever dealt with. All the employees were top professionals with a very kind heart & ever so helpful. They answered all my questions honestly & were concerned about my health. All were knowledgeable, well trained, courteous, & performed the testing & remediation efficiently. They blocked off the place where the mold was found & protected me from any mold spores or mycotoxins the the remediation could stir up. They brought huge air scrubbers to my house to suck up all bad stuff in the air & used a special vacuum cleaner to clean the carpets, as well as cleaning the furniture. They thoroughly took every precaution & measure to get rid of all toxins & poisons from the mold that have made me so sick. I am so grateful for Biotek & pray for all in the company everyday. May God bless them more than they could ever ask or think."

"So very helpful on the phone. Told me my pressure indicator oil had just evaporated a little. Walked me through checking it, told me everything was as it should be and saved me a service call. When the fan goes out, I’ll definitely call this company for replacement."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Radon detection is crucial as prolonged exposure to radon gas, a leading cause of lung cancer, poses significant health risks in residential environments.

The lifespan of a radon mitigation system depends on the type of system and its maintenance. With proper care, a system can last for many decades. Passive systems tend to last longer as they have fewer components that require replacement. Active systems, which have more moving parts like fans, generally have a shorter lifespan. For instance, water filtration devices and active pressurization systems require more frequent maintenance. While the system as a whole is durable, the radon fan in an active system typically has a lifespan of 5 to 10 years and will need to be replaced. As long as the fan is working, the mitigation system should function correctly.

Yes, many systems include warranties for performance. Confirm terms with your installer.

There are steps you can take as a homeowner to remediate radon yourself. While a radon reduction professional can make the biggest impact in your home, you can make efforts to improve radon levels on your own by sealing cracks, increasing ventilation, and testing for radon regularly.
