"Removed old water heater and installed new water heater and brought water heater up to code. They arrived on time and performed the work efficiently and neatly. The price for the direct vent water heater plus installation was about $250 less than another local quote. Overall I am very satisfied with the price and quality of the installation."

"Been having septic tank failure and had to get it pumped twice this year and it was filling close to the top again. I called them last second and were able to have technician come next day and were able to perform work the following day after that. They even drained the septic dank while there, saving me from paying for it to be drained by another plumbing service. While working on the new drain field ($4000 for 3 bdrm house) that they were hired to install, they noticed the septic tank had been rotting (must be at least 50 years old and was made of cinderblock) and needed to be replaced. The new tank would add on another $3000. Under the ground there was a pvc pipe going from my house towards the backyard but was serving no purpose. As they dug with the tractor they damaged it and broke it open, I noticed it broken while they were working but did not care because it was not harming anything. Once I paid the invoice, I noticed they charged me $300 for repairing the pipe they broke and that I did not need or request for being fixed. Thought that should be mentioned. They did very good work in a short amount of time. I am not sure if the work was worth the price, if it is then they are great but I woke up that day expecting to spend $4000 and ended up spending $7,300 and suspect there could have been less expensive solutions if I were more knowledgeable about septic systems, but alteast I can be certain I have a septic system that is more than operational and should be fine for decades."

"It took two days to tear out the old insulation under the bottom floor and install encapsulation in the whole crawlspace. Nick and his crew did quality work getting the job completed. They also patched holes in the foundation, hauled off all the old, dirty insulation and torn vapor barrier. All-in-all a very accommodating crew."

Benjamin Franklin's technicians performed outstanding service, installing an entire new and superior tankless hot water system, replacing our inferior and dangerously flawed tankless system that no longer performed. The lead technician was up front regarding the reasons for replacement, the cost of replacement, as well as less expensive alternatives. After we decided to replace with a new tankless system and because of the price point, the lead technician suggested time plan payment alternatives which was very helpful.

The day of installation, the crew arrived on time as promised and suggested that the unit be placed on the outside of the house instead of underneath in the crawl space, allowing for easy access for maintenance and trouble shooting as well as for safety. An excellent suggestion since the old tankless system had been installed against a wall in the crawl space underneath our bedroom floor which the lead technician noted, would have been bad for us if the corroded pipes had started leaking gas! Anyway, the entire job was completed without a hitch and again right on time as promised.

The new system has been working perfectly for six months now and we could not be more pleased! I would highly recommend Benjamin Franklin and their technical crews to anyone with plumbing issues - two thumbs up!

We weren't sure what the problem was but Gary came to our home on short notice, diagnosed the problem accurately and quickly and gave us a cost estimate with a repair date that was very quick as well. They arrived to do the repair, cleared the area needed for the work, removed the old tank and replaced it with a modern one, pulled the entire well pipe and pump which obviously was in terrible condition. "My downstair's airconditioning unit stopped worked.  I called another company that I had used before.  They took several days to come to the house.  They inspected the system and said I needed a new evaporator coil for the unit.  He also said my unit was 3 pounds low on freon, which he could replace at  $89 per pound.  But he said I would lose it when they replaced the coil since it couldn't be saved.  I thought I needed another opinion so I told him I would think about it and let him know.  In the meantime he called his office to ask them to give me an estimate on the cost of the coil.  I then called Tuck & Howell.  The tech came out that same afternoon.  He checked the whole system and agreed the problem was the evaporator coil.  He gave me a couple of options but I decided to go ahead and replace it.  He called his office for an estimate, which I got within the hour.  I arranged for him to install the unit two days later, which he did. He also checked the freon and said it was about 2 pounds low, which he could replace at $39 for the first pound and $15 a pound therafter (opposed to $89 per pound the other company charged).  He said he could save it when he replaced the evaporator coil so it wouldn't be wasted.  That allowed me to restart the airconditioning unit that same day to cool down my house that day.    He was on time for the appointment, had everything he needed with him, completed the job efficiently, professionally and quickly.  Once the unit was installed he cleaned up after himself and took away the mess.  The unit is working fine.  I have no complaints.  About two weeks later, the first company called be back with an estimate which was $200 more than Tuck & Howell had charged.  I told them to forget it.  I had used them several times before but will not again.  I highly recommend Tuck & Howell."
