"I can’t say enough good things about Evangeline Construction. Wonderful from the first contact with Vanessa the owner. Vanessa is a female that knows her job and is very respectful to her client. She referred Leslie at Palmetto Tile who was super professional and easy to work with. She also referred the granite , glass and plumbing installers. What she said she would do was done in record time. I highly recommend this company and her trade people."

"An unbelievable experience. Our house has 20 year old tile flooring over the entire 1st floor (1700 sf) , area carpeting in every room, and fully furnished. Solutions Cleaning showed up on time, moved all of the furnishings, cleaned the tile and sealed all of the grout joints by hand with a perfect color match in a very systematic professional manner. Furnishings were replaced when the floor area was complete. The end product is beautiful and looks as if it were newly installed. We would recommend them to anyone needing their floors cleaned. "I had a new shower installed to replace an existing tile shower for ease of entry and exit. The work was performed by Steve Breland and David Blair, both were very pleasant, cleaned up after completion and went over everything with me. It was finished in one day as promised."

"I hired Cransten to remodel my bathroom. It was getting old and in need of an update. They came in, replaced the floor, built a shower pan, and laid custom tile around my shower. I was impressed with how friendly and professional they were. I would definitely hire them again!"

"I told the technician that I wanted the fan flush mounted as all the other ones in my home. I showed him the other fans. He still put it with the fan attached to the rod instead. So he to had to take it down and do it correctly. I had to show him the instructions in the box. When he removed the fan he did find that the base was not properly attached to the beam in the ceiling and he fixed that."

The company is co-owned by Rusty Holt and Chris Cochran. Together we bring to the construction and decision process over 40 years of hands on building and business experience. We have worked for the some of the nation’s largest contractors as a superintendent/PM and acted as the project manager and owner’s representative for multimillion-dollar medical complexes. These are just two of the roles we have filled in the industry. In addition, we have met the needs of many individual homeowners. We are each familiar with what it takes to complete a given division of construction at the tradesman level.\n\nOur experience over the years has focused on multi-family, single family residential, hospitality, medical offices, light industrial, and, general retail. Projects have included ground up and interior upfits. People ask us, what is your niche. It’s simple, we build. One of the reasons we are successful is our dependable base of sub-contractors can be counted on to show up and do quality work at a competitive price. \n\nRecently our company was featured in Mount Pleasant magazine. Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.

Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. On the other hand, tiles need to be cut, laid individually, grouted, and left to cure.

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.
