"Outstanding Drywall, Painting, and Ceiling Resurfacing! I recently had the pleasure of working with Matt and Mona for a comprehensive project that included drywall installation, painting, and the removal of popcorn ceiling with resurfacing. I can't recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, their attention to detail was impressive. They worked diligently and communicated effectively throughout the entire process, keeping me informed on their progress every step of the way. The quality of their workmanship was exceptional, and the transformation of my space is absolutely stunning. Additionally, their pricing was very reasonable, providing great value for the quality of service they delivered. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I am extremely pleased with the results. If you're looking for reliable and skilled professionals for drywall, painting, or ceiling resurfacing, look no further than Matt and Mona! Highly recommended!"

"They did a terrific job of repairing the drywall in my ceiling. I would recommend them. They covered my furniture and lighting before they began the work. When they were finished they cleaned up the area. I would hire them again."

"In spite of torrential rains in July and a hurricane in August, Bill and his team completed a new garage build in a very reasonable time. Always on time, and let me know well in advance his timetable. Very creative in his plans, and could always find ways to improve plans or save time and expense. Would highly recommend him for almost any repair/improvement needs!"

"We had a damaged section of drywall in our bathroom due to a missing seal around the shower door. We didn’t know why the wall was wet . We called Andrew at Coastline Repair and asked him if he could come over and assess where the water was coming from. From the beginning, he was very friendly and professional. He found the problem and gave us an estimate for the repairs. On repair day, Randall replaced the damaged drywall, painted it to match our wall color perfectly!! He also caulked the seals at our shower glass door where it met the shower walls. We had several baseboard corner joints that were cracked at the seams. Randall caulked them all! We highly recommend Coastline for any home repairs needed. They are very conscientious. thorough, and maintain professionalism throughout the whole process. We are very pleased with our results and highly recommend them. They can be trusted to keep their word!"

"Jimmy Zeski, the Owner provided us with a complete, itemized schedule and price of work to Pressure Wash our 2,000 SF Log Home, to caulk and completely stain the house with Honey colored stain and caulk that we, the homeowners, purchased from Southland Log Homes, Irmo, SC.
To say that the workers from FreshCoat of Charleston, SC were professional paint/stain personnel would be a complete understatement of their work and dedication to providing an absolutely top-of-the-line new finish and appearance to our log home! The two workmen, who were assigned to our job, Edwin and Armando worked in extremely hot and humid conditions for almost five complete days.  (They had the added problem of having to work around an extended period of time to allow the house to dry three days after pressure washing, and then had to have three days of dry weather after caulking and staining were performed).  These two men at all times provided extremely professional work, cleaning up and policing up the area each and every day.  To say they went above and beyond the scope of work would be doing an injustice to their professionalism.  The Owner, Jimmy, stopped by several times checking on the progress of the work, and my wife and I feel that he was extremely satisfied with the work and progress of the job.
My wife and I would re-hire this group for any future jobs and we actually questioned them concerning performing future work on our home in the following four or five years.  You can not go wrong hiring FreshCoat to perform your paint/staining jobs!

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Deciding whether to repair or replace drywall can be tricky, but your top considerations should be the extent of the damage and what caused the damage. For instance, if you need to repair a small hole caused by a doorknob that hit the wall, you can safely patch it without a second thought. However, if you have significant drywall damage caused by water damage, it’s best to thoroughly remove the drywall to inspect and repair the pipes behind it before replacing it.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.

You should leave a gap between drywall sheets because they naturally expand and contract along with the building framing as temperature and humidity change. Most pro drywall installers leave a gap of about ⅛ inch between drywall sheets, allowing the sheets to expand, contract, and shift without cracking or becoming damaged. If you don’t leave enough gaps between slabs, the edges will press against each other when they expand, and the pressure can cause visible cracks.

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.
