"They were good overall, but uneven.  It was not the same crew each time.  We had them come every two weeks.   Usually there were 2 maids that arrived and they'd be done within an hour.  Many times the house was essentially spotless, but other times there'd be dirt left under the couch or under other furniture.  They were friendly and professional though.  I thought the price of $120 was a bit steep for what they did.  We have someone coming every two weeks that does about the same for $60 now, and she does a better job overall.

Buffing and Polishing questions, answered by experts

You can use some types of car wax to polish marble floors, as long as the polish is designed for use on marble floors. Read the label and test the polish on a small area of the floor first to see how it interacts with the marble. Car wax can help fill in or buff away small scratches, while polishing the marble for extra shine.

Buffing will only remove scratches at the surface level of your flooring. You may also need to apply hardwood floor wax to restore the wax layer. To remove deeper scratches, you’ll need another floor repair method like sanding; however, if you sand the floor, you’ll also need to stain and seal it.

A water-based, low- or no-VOC sealer is typically a good choice for marble countertops. Choose a sealant that is certified safe for contact with food when applying to kitchen countertops. For high-traffic areas, look for formulas that have heat-resistant and acid-resistant features. While there are economical and convenient spray-on sealers, they don’t coat the surface as effectively as the ones you apply with a pad or brush.

While DIY kits are available for minor stone polishing, larger restoration projects benefit from professional expertise. A professional can ensure an even, high-quality finish, handle stain removal, apply proper sealing for long-lasting protection, and guarantee the work's durability.

Since marble is a porous material, it is more prone to water spots than other countertop options. Fortunately, pure water doesn’t damage your marble, but if the water is acidic, it can cause stains or water spots. Resealing throughout the year can help increase marble’s water resistance, too.
