"We just hired Team 1 from Saw-Rite Tree Service to come out and remove 4 extremely large pine trees. They showed up for the job early when they said they would be there, worked quickly but safely and cleaned up everything afterwards. All of the guys were very friendly. I would recommend them to to everyone I know!"

Small jobs welcome

"Dustin has been mowing my property for several months. He is always punctual and alerts me when he is going to be at my place. I have also had him trim my palm trees and he replaced one that had died. He always does a good job."

We do forestry mulching, lot clearing, dirt work, demolition, driveways, pond bank clearing, debris hauling and more. We currently have 2 skid steers with attachments, a mid size excavator with attachments, tractors and dump trailers. We are licensed and insured. I’m Christian. I have been working in all or some fields that u have read for 35 years. Born into a family of Masons. I’m a third generation mason in my family. I specialize in hardscapes and landscaping but not limited to any type of masonry work. I have a window screen repair company currently. Moves into the area little less than a year ago. Trying to figure out what I want to do down here in North Carolina. I learned everything I know from doing and watching work side by side with my dad, uncle and my older brother. Anyway I’m available to work. Ready to take care of someone’s project large or small no matter what it is.

My names Cayden Shadoan, I’m 23 years old. I have a beautiful wife and daughter. I have a full time job as a pipe welder in Sumter South Carolina. I’m on here just looking to pick up a couple extra jobs here and there in hopes of starting my own business one day to be able to stay home with my family more. I can do pretty much anything that needs done in or around your house. Specializing in building fences or repairing fences, any kind of piping jobs, or any welding. Thank you for considering me to help you get what you need done. Hope to see you soon.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

Generally, no, tree topping isn’t a good technique, and you should avoid using it in most cases. Tree topping may be the only good option to save a tree following severe damage after a storm, but in most other cases, it’s not the right choice. Tree topping can leave trees vulnerable to disease and further damage, and most pros will suggest against it.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.
