"We just hired Team 1 from Saw-Rite Tree Service to come out and remove 4 extremely large pine trees. They showed up for the job early when they said they would be there, worked quickly but safely and cleaned up everything afterwards. All of the guys were very friendly. I would recommend them to to everyone I know!"

"Speedy response to my request for service, efficient, safe tree trimming, (mine and neighbors overhanging my roof) and thorough clean up. Amazing to watch them in action simply with an extension ladder and a small chain saw. I enthusiastically recommend them."

"The Team @ Garden of Eva did exceptional work for us! I made contact with Rocky and Eva and they came over the same evening to evaluate our project. They are very knowledgeable about plants. shrubs, trees, and all aspects of design and landscaping. Their team replaced dying trees/ shrubs and added new flowers/ plants. They installed a drip system for watering, trimmed, manicured, put down new mulch, added pavers, and made sure all of our landscaping lights were in good order. They even cleaned and sanded our brick driveway. It was a big project and Rocky kept me informed all along the way. They did a remarkable job **putting it all together** for us. We are very pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Hiring an arborist or tree surgeon is usually more expensive than a standard tree company, but it is often worth the investment. Arborists have education and certifications that standard companies typically lack, leading to a more professional, expert-level service. Their expertise is particularly valuable for diseased or infested trees, as they can ensure safer removal and help prevent the issue from spreading. Additionally, arborists may be necessary for work near power lines, as uncertified companies are often not permitted to service these trees. If your goal is to preserve the health of your trees, an arborist is the best choice. Their services, such as stump grinding, are also performed with greater expertise to ensure a safe depth that won't cause your lawn to collapse over time.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Trees are beneficial to the environment and wildlife. If you have an old tree, but it’s healthy, it may be best to avoid cutting it down. However, if it’s showing signs of bug infestation, disease, or is potentially hazardous, then you should contact a tree removal company to cut it down.

If you are unsure whether you should have it removed or not, then speak with an arborist to determine what is best.
