"I had a large 100' oak tree right next to my house, a huge branch broke during the last hurricane and luckely it missed our roof by a couple inches ..I had the tree inspected by the city arborist and we were told we should remove it as the tree was starting to decay. .I received a few estimates from different companies Saw-Rite had the best estimate and reviews, they made it possible for us to have the tree remove ...I couldn't afford the other estimates. ..i believe the location and the size made it an expensive tree to remove .The guys were professional and cleaned everything after the job was completed..they explained to us how they were proceeding with the job..good communication.. Thank you, Now I can sleep during next hurricane"

"All About Trees were professional knowledgeable and efficient. Ryan and Tbo have many years of experience and extremely hard workers. Matt was a hard working individual and seemed to enjoy his work. I highly recommend this company. Cleaned my yard completely and left it better than they found it.If you need anything with trees these guys are great. Dave Feeney Murrells Inlet"

"Customer service with Garden of Eva was excellent. As a veteran, I truly felt the owner went out of his way to provide the best service possible. The project took longer than expected. However the work when it was completed was absolutely terrific. Kudos to Rocky and his family for all their hard work. My residential yard looks great!"

"Dustin has been mowing my property for several months. He is always punctual and alerts me when he is going to be at my place. I have also had him trim my palm trees and he replaced one that had died. He always does a good job."

"Arbor One Tree Care did a great job for us. They cut 5 tall pine trees, 2 of which were 70+ tall. The trees were in close proximity to our home and surrounded by our landscaping shrubs, flowers, and trees. Arbor One was extremely cautious to protect the surroundings and cleaned everything as they went and upon completion. They were professional and I would definitely recommend and use them again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Aim to have your trees inspected and pruned in early spring. At this point in the year, tree service professionals can note where there is old growth from winter and cut that back to encourage new growth for the rest of the year. Pruning at the wrong time of the year could make your trees prone to diseases.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.
