"Great. We are so pleased with me results. Jeff is always available by phone. He was helpful throughout the process and offered tips regarding plant choice. He brought me to nursery for plant selection since I didn't have much experience. He met with construction team who were building a garage and driveway to discuss grading and overall design. We specifically chose Kale Lawn Care for lawn maintenance with knowledge we'd be rehauling our entire yard. The maintenance crew is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. Finally, we're happy to use a local business."

"Great, professional work, surbs removed, leveling for sloop drainage, forms set. When concrete was tone poured, he covered area of driveway so dirt and mud didn’t get it all messy. Great work. We recommend them."

"

The owner was very punctual and professional. His design was unique as it had to incorporate the raised vegetable bed and existing fence. He was very responsive to my questions both by phone and email.

Finally, his crew left the work area in just the same condition as before the job, grading the area, replanting some grasses and sweeping the driveway. Very impressed. Would hire again in a heart beat.

"I recommended them to the new owner of my old house. It cost me $25 per hour per person. It was a good rate. I wanted him as a neighbor. At the end of his work, it was completely clean. It was spotlessly clean. they did a good job. I would used them again. I hired him for the last 3 years. He would come to 4-8 weeks."

"Johnathan is very hard working and dependable. He recommended a good solution to a steep slope where it was hard to grow grass. The solution included planting bushes and creating a stone border to help with erosion control"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

It’s best to weigh the pros and cons of each material and decide on your priorities for your driveway. Gravel won’t be an appropriate choice if your driveway experiences heavy traffic. You’ll find that you need to level and top it off regularly, which could make the material a much more expensive option.

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

An asphalt overlay or top coat costs between $3 and $7 per square foot. For a standard, single-car driveway that’s 10 feet wide and 20 feet long, that’s a total of between $600 and $1,400. For a two-car driveway, you’re looking at a total of between $1,200 and $3,000.

Sealing coat asphalt after 6-12 months and then every 2-3 years is recommended.
