"We were concerned about replacing the curb along the driveway side away from the garage and brick work that bordered the driveway outside the garage. Johnathon recommended using a swale instead of the curb and installed new bricks on the border. His professionalism was outstanding. Overall, an excellent job by MadeWell Concrete. Our driveway is the envy of the neighborhood. Highly recommended."

"These guys came out to replace and repair a portion of my driveway. The work was second to none, very personable and knowledgeable. Jesse and his crew run a tight operation. Jesse is a stand up guy, the job was small and he was in my neighborhood already paving a cul-de-sac and had some left over asphalt. He refused to take my money and told me to take what the job wouldâ ve paid and help someone out in need. The world needs more ppl like this guyâ ¦.."

"

Our project was initially held up by weather but Adam and his crew were very professional and clear about the need for dry conditions to be able to put in a good quality patio.  He even apologized even though he has no control over the weather!  Once they started they worked straight through the weekend to get our job completed.  I am super impressed by these guys.  The attention to detail is outstanding and Adam made great suggestions on dimensions and design which we had not considered.  Our patio and fireplace are gorgeous and we are very happy with the outcome.  Once they were done they spread pine bark (we had the choice of grass seed or pine bark) all over to protect the soil around the patio from rain until we can get some landscaping done.  We don't really get much sun back there so the seed would have been wasted.

They even power washed our driveway so it looks like they were never there.

I strongly recommend Hard Scapes, LLC and will be having them back to do a retaining wall for our driveway in the next few months.

Best regards to Brad and Crew!

"Jose did an excellent job with planting over 20 bushes and shrubs and he leveled the top soil and spread and compacted mulch in my front yard. His prices were very reasonable and I would recommend him again. In fact I have contracted him to build a retainer wall in my back yard."

"We had stone pavers installed as a driveway extension, removed existing concrete sidewalk & replace with stone pavers and add a stone walkway from the driveway to the back yard. We also had them line our front flowerbed with stone pavers and replace a dying tree in the front. Jose and his team started the job when scheduled & completed the job as scheduled. He and his crew were so professional and such perfectionists! The completed work exceeds our expectations. Because of the slope of the yard, the area for the walkway had to be leveled to prevent drainage issues. He took everything into consideration and made the area a showcase!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The cost to pour a driveway apron depends on the material and size. Concrete costs $3 to $10 per square foot, asphalt ranges from $2 to $5, and pavers are $5 to $15 per square foot. Additional expenses, like excavation, base material, and labor, can increase the total cost. For example, a standard 12x15-foot concrete apron could cost between $540 and $1,800, depending on local rates and additional work required. Always consult a local driveway paving contractor to get an accurate estimate tailored to your project.

Think of the street as a way to capture all the elements on either side of the road, including the road—a street encompasses the homes or other buildings, the trees, and the road of a given area as defined by the beginning and end of the street on a map. A roadway, however, is the component of the street where cars travel.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.
