"Mike was very responsive and went out of his way to make sure the job was done on time and according to the estimate. He sourced the right materials to match our existing siding, had them shipped and delivered AND turned up on the day he said he would and finished the job quickly and to a high standard."

"Excellent! Arrived on time, Russ & team performed an excellent job. Even fixed a couple areas I did not see and could become a problem if left untreated. They completed in a timely manner & cleaned up removed all Items replaced an and left the work area neat and clean. Not the cheapest, but they did an excellent & I did quality work and gave great value for the level of work performed. Done right the first time. I plan to use them again!"

"He started with a new screened in porch and that job quickly grew into a new kitchen remodel, new vinyl siding, and a new roof! He and his team did it all and did AMAZING! Highly recommend Sam and his team! Professional, timely, reliable, knowledgeable and a true visionary. If you can think it, he literally can do it and make it even better!! Will definitely be hiring him again for future jobs!!"

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

Siding questions, answered by experts

You should plan to stain or refinish your home's cedar siding every three to seven years to maintain its appearance and provide maximum protection, though some estimates suggest a range of four to six years. The exact frequency depends on several factors, including your local climate, exposure to severe weather like direct sunlight, rain, and wind, the quality of the initial stain application, the type of stain used, and the overall condition and quality of the wood.

For homes in harsh climates with high humidity and significant sun exposure, you should plan on staining as often as every three years, while those in milder locations may only need to do so every seven years. For the longest-lasting protection in particularly harsh climates, consider using an opaque stain.

If you are looking for a lower-maintenance alternative, you might consider vinyl or aluminum siding. While the initial installation cost can be higher, they do not require as much upkeep and can offer more value over time, especially in areas with excessive rainfall or high humidity.

Yes, you can mix siding types to create a unique design. However, it requires thoughtful planning to execute properly. The installation process will also be more time-consuming than if you were to choose either vertical or horizontal for the entire home, so it will cost you more in labor and design costs.

While any dark color of vinyl is likely to fade, dark red and dark brown vinyl tend to fade faster and more noticeably compared with other dark colors. White is the color least likely to fade, but it will show stains, mildew, and dirt more prominently than darker colors.

Concrete log siding is not the same as fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is made from a mixture of cement and cellulose fibers, while GFRC is made from cement, glass fibers, and polymers. The materials are similar in their durability, longevity, and curb appeal, and the main difference is that concrete log siding is available in more styles that resemble traditional log siding. Fiber cement is also less expensive, with materials costing around half what you’d pay for concrete log siding.

Yes, it is common for mold to grow on the underside of the siding due to the moist atmosphere. When there is an abundance of moisture, mold has the ideal environment to spread and thrive. This fungus can be found on virtually any surface, both indoors and outdoors. Generally, it is most active when the environment is warm, damp, and humid.
